Tang Band WT-1427G 10" Neo Subwoofer

This unique subwoofer features a low profile (3-3/16"), long throw design, making it one of the few 10" subwoofers which can be mounted in-wall. Tang Band WT-1427G 10" Neo Subwoofer
Tang Band WT-1427G 10" Neo Subwoofer is rated 4.2381 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Special purpose subwooferNice, niche subwoofer.Placed in a sealed ~.2 ft^3 box to fit inside an 07 Corolla, under the passenger seat. It performs admirably considering the constraints. With the road noise inherent in this generation Corolla, low-octave extension was unnecessary.Outside of vehicle, it does not test out very well. But once installed and cabin gain becomes a factor, it performs solidly down to 50-60Hz region. Afterward, it is difficult to discern what is from the music and what is from the road noise. At the price, there are better selections if the application does not absolutely require the shallow depth. If I were to be tasked to redo the car project, I would likely use the same configuration.Would likely make for a good subwoofer in a three-way tower since baffle width could be kept to a minimum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally built a Dual.October 25, 2007 - WoW - my review of the single 10 incher... I wired these up for a 2 ohm operation.Hooked up to a 500 watt Blaupunkt Sub Amp. At 30 hz this sub vibrates the truck cab 30 cycles a second.I now have accurate bass!!! Totally different sound and feel than before. Amp also probably made a big difference. Now for 2 Farad cap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little subwooferBought one and installed in a custom box for my 3000gt. Fits exactly where I wanted it to go, basically no loss of trunk space thanks to the shallow mount.Very good sound out this sub. It lacks the really low-end frequency sound, but overall I am really happy with it.Powered by a Rockford Fosgate p300.1 monoblock amp.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from exactly as promisedThis woofer is everything advertised. Tight bass and a VERY shallow mount depth. Bought it to go in a custom enclosure for a Fiero...fit the need perfectly. will most likely buy 3 more for other similar enclosure projects

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely FantasticVery good subwoofer for small chambers, with a little (few) equalization, you can expect very good sound of it. Higher THD than other biggers subwoofers, but it passes my rigorous hearing tests. We don't hear like a micro, bass accuracy is box dependent and the linear excursion of this woofer is very respectable for it's size. Also a good VC size, accepts very high power in a small box. Very recomended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good subI bought this driver for testing purposes, I have a few applications in mind. I modeled it in a ported box and it looked good so I built a test box. very disappointing, it sounded like a car sub boomy and peaky. I tried it open baffle and discovered it had a pretty nice sound but not enough output for open baffle. I sealed up the test box and have been listening to it sealed for a few days now. I think it has potential in a small sealed cabinet with some EQ.

Tang Band WT-1427G 10" Neo Subwoofer

Would you recommend running it up to 300hz?

I have the option to fit this woofer into my kickpanels, but i would like to know if its able to play midbass properly up to 300Hz? I have 4" Scan 10F mids i would like to use, but they dont play lower than 300Hz. I´m afraid midbass will be not punchy enough and slow...

This driver seems like it should be ok run up that high from looking over the graphs. Off axis performance might be an issue though.

This driver seems a little tricky to sim.I finally came up with something that looks really good though. The odd part was trying to get ports that actually seemed to work out. In order for them not to be extremely long for the enclosure size I had to make it with 2 very small ports. This seemed to be the only way to avoid port huff. At any rate the best I could come up with is below:14.2L (0.5cu ft) with 2 ports each being 3.8cm (1.5" internal diameter) and 35.9cm long (14.15 inches)Tuned to 35hz with f3 at ~38hz
