Tang Band W3-1335SB 3" Titanium Cone Driver
Tang Band W3-1335SB 3" Titanium Cone Driver is rated 3.8571 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not terrible, but not great. As someone else as said, there are two 10-15dB breakup nodes in the top octave which makes it very hard to use fullrange.Reasonably high sensitivity and otherwise smooth response.Distortion performance is merely average. Maybe if it were $20 cheaper it would be good value... get the W3-1364SA instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning detailI used these drivers to replace the cheap satellites that came with my JVC PS-1. Mounted them in 4" ID round PVC 1/2" particle ends and used the W3-1335A passive in the back. Very sensitive to every detail of the mid to high frequency range. Pleasant and refined treble for a single driver that hits down to 70Hz. Might be the more expensive 3" for the TB's but, you do get what you pay for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice little beast but has to be tamedThis is a very well built little driver that is able to handle a lot of power and produce good output relative to its size. I have been able to get a -3dB at 70 Hz with an oversized enclosure (3.3 litre, about 3 times Vas). It needs taming though. In my enclosure I use a mild notch centred at 1Khz (2.2 mH, 15 uF and 3.3 Ohms in parallel) and a hard one at 15KHz (small capacitor over 1 mH crossover inductor) to suppress an aggressive break up peak. Because of this break up node, it is not possible to use this driver as a full range. Complete crossover assembly with two coils adds about 3 Ohms in series with the driver, which is welcome to lower the Qt for use in this oversized cabinet. Combines very well with Dayton ND20FB tweeter. If you get the crossover right, the reward is a very clean and accurate extended midrange and, for a speaker this size, remarkeable bass.Because of the complexities of controlling the behaviour of this driver, I would recommend it only to folks that have the necessary measuring equipment and the skills to compensate for its quirks.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Appearances can and do deceiveThis driver has some serious issues:1) twin breakup peaks of over 12 dB (!!). 1st order at 3.5 will bring them down to only 0 dB. Nuking them with a notch is difficult because of the spacing between the two peaks.2) almost 10 dB rise between .75 and 1 Khz.The Aurasound 3" is far superior.Build quality is very nice and these drivers are candy to the eye, but they are not extremely suitable to building loudspeakers. Unfortunately, as I bought 4 of them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unreal 3" DriverAs said in previous reviews, these little guys are an unreal value. They are so clean, and can handle a good bit of power much more then the 15 rms they are rated for. I have about 40 rms to each one and they start to break up. I was very surprised by the excursion on them as well. Hard to think you could get any more sound out of a 3" speaker!!! Will buy them for the next project 100%.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent performanceI bought a pair of these drivers to build a speaker system for my computer. I put them in a ported enclosure 7 Liters in volume. The port was 1.5" diameter and 0.8" in length. Crossed over to a subwoofer @ 100Hz, these speakers sound absolutely amazing, especially for the price. They do not at all sound like 3" speakers.
