Sure Electronics 300W 12V DC/DC Boost Converter Voltage Step-Up Board with TL494 IC

This 300 watt boost converter steps up your vehicle's 12 VDC output (11 to 27 VDC max) up to 48 VDC for use with high power amplifier boards. Select 24, 30, 36, 40, or 48 VDC output via four DIP switches located on the board. Precision voltage adjustments are accomplished through the surface mount potentiometer built onto the board.

A Texas Instruments-designed TL494 pulse-width-modulation control IC provides stable, military-grade voltage output, regardless of voltage setting. Additionally, low-voltage and over-voltage input protection is built-in and a current sensing fan kicks-on when current output is greater than 3 amps. Further protection is provided by two 25A ATC automotive fuses.

This boost converter is different than many car audio electronics and amplifiers. With 12 VDC input power, the boost converter is in an on condition, and is boosting voltage to the preset output.

To turn boost converting off, 12 VDC needs to be applied to the EN input terminal. It is recommended that you wire EN to a SPST switch and then to 12 VDC in the event you need to turn boost converting off. The current consumed by this boost converter is 20 mA when not driving a load.

Note: The manual incorrectly states that the LEDs will illuminate green. The LEDs actually illuminate blue when the boost converter is operating correctly.

Can two of these boards be run in parallel to power a system greater than 300w?

Ok, I have 3 of these boards. I apply 12 v to the 12v terminal and hook up a ground and nothing comes out of the output on all 3 boards. The LED lights up as soon as 12v is applied but no output voltage on the output side. What am I missing?

Can you make this turn on and off with the remote wire on a head unit like a traditional car audio amplifier?

Not without a relay circuit. The amp does not have a remote input like a normal car amplifier, so a relay would be needed in order for that to work the same way.

Does this board have isolated outputs? Can I use 2 of these to get a +/- voltage output at lets say 24 volts?

It's a boost converter so its output GND is common to the input GND. If you're running from a battery, it is isolated but only until you connect a grounded audio source. If you transformer-couple the audio input, you can get away wiring two power supplies in series.

Would this step up 12v battery into 30v at 12 AMPS

The transformer has a 300 watt output rating regardless of the voltage output. Simply divide wattage (300) by voltage to receive amperage. 300 watts/30 volts = 10 amps....300 watts/10 volts = 30 amps...

will this power the 2x300W TAS5630 Class-D Amplifier Board Part # 320-309?

Unfortunately this will not provide enough output for that board. I would only recommend this for the 2x100 watt or smaller boards.
