Super Bright White 5mm LED 17000 mcd 100 Piece Kit with Voltage Dropping Resistors
Super Bright White 5mm LED 17000 mcd 100 Piece Kit with Voltage Dropping Resistors is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awsome LED lightsSeriously sweet kit. Comes with everything as advertised. 470 ohm resistors are for 12 Vdc circuit and 100 ohm are used for 5 Vdc circuit. I used 470 ohm resistor and 3 led bulbs to make one circuit then wired 5 of these together to make lights for one door under cabinets. Heat shrink tubing keeps everything together nice and neat. Wife complained that she couldn't see even with all lights on so I designed and built this to make her happy. When she is happy....... everyone's happy! YAY!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from work great!I bought these to replace burnt out led Xmas lights. They are too large for that application but I did try some other applications that worked well. I will be ordering the 3m leds to see if they will fit the Xmas light application

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great LEDs for 12v PowerWheels VehiclesI ordered these to light my granddaughter's 12v PowerWheels jeep - and they work flawlessly! The LEDs and resisters arrived in a small packing envelope within two days after ordering. I soldered one of the included 480 Ohm resisters to each of the LED's positive (long wire) and that little jeep easily powers 4 lights without dimming under load. Would definitely recommend this great product to anyone!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Bright initially, but dim over timeI got these to play with last year, just to connect them to USB cables for lighting around my computer. They were very bright and I was very happy. I agreed with most of the reviewer back then. But over time, these LED white lights became bluish and the light intensity reduced noticeably within in two months or so. I think if you use these as momentary indicators, they are okay for that, but if you use them continuously , then they will dim out. For lighting, use LED strips instead. My 2 cents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They are BRIGHT!I bought a pack of 100 of these little bad-boys for a few different projects and to experiment with. I started by using 60 of them right out of the gate for illuminaries inside of wine bottles. The bottles had been painted with white spray paint and covered in epsom salt. I used a 9v battery clip (the simple kind with the red and black leads) ran the wires attached to the 100ohm resistor and two of these LED's down into the bottle with some decorative sticks bought at a craft store. The battery was then wrapped in a bow to conceal and hold it to the top of the bottle. These were place on tables for a Christmas/Winter Ball. All 60 LED worked. I fried a few trying some experiments were I figured I could sacrifice them for the sake of creative solutions. Great product!

Is this dimmable if attached to a 12v dimming circuit (like a car dashboard supply)?
Asked by: briands
As long as you do not exceed the rated voltage and use the current resistor you can get some dim ability from themI replaced two in a dash circuit with good results each one with its resistor attachedSide note if you replace all your dash lights with these it will not work as the dimmer resistor does not have enough drop you would have better luck with a dimable led power unit

mcd ??

What exactly does this mean ?? Thanks. RG
Asked by: Retiredtech
Millicandelas - a measure of luminous intensity. Conversion to lumens is possible if you know the beam angle of the LED.
