Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sub crossoverI believe these are meant to be used with a dvc woofer but I split it to use on two separate passive 12" subs. I used two terminal blocks as ins and outs on the back of the sub boxes. The outs go to 8" two way bookshelf's that I also built.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from hella crossoverI was leary at first because I wasnt familiar with the product, but I used it in a Soundsphere application and it is much better in quality than theirs. the tracers ont he circuitboard are heavyduty and thick. No wonder they claim it can do 250Watts or so. I bet it can do more. The components are massive and durable. The connections are plentiful and sturdy. I use these for commercial applications where adding a subwoofer is necessary to the design. Dont see why in home/car use wouldnt benefit too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good value at sale price.I wanted to use this crossover as a low pass filter only, so you will probably get better results if you use it as designed ( by connecting a set of speakers to the high pass output ).I have a receiver that lets me assign unused rear surround outputs as additional front speaker outputs (for possible stereo use in another room). I am using the secondary front outputs to drive an old set of JBL spearers for bass only. I measured the output of the combined speakers with a Radio Shack SPL meter (with compensation based on published charts). When used as a lowpass filter only, my measurements indicated that the upper bass frequencies (60-150 Hz) are somewhat emphasised at the expense of the lower frequencies (20-60 Hz). I also had to connect the bass speakers out-of-phase with the main speakers to get a relatively flat overall response. You might get better rusults by connecting your main speakers to the supplied high-pass output of this crossover instead of using only the low-pass output like I did.I got better results with my speakers when I switched to a huge set of air-core coils thatI use as first-order low-pass filters on my second set of speakers. My ears and my SPL meter tell me that low DCR air-core coils do a better job of passing the really low bass frequencies. Even if you think you need a second-order low pass, I would recommend building your own with air-core coils. Parts express has plenty of those to choose from and the ones I've used are high quality parts.

Subwoofer Crossover 8 Ohm 150 Hz 200W

How difficult is it to split this board.  The caps look very close.  I was looking at getting a pair of Boston Acoustics 15" drvr that are on close out.  They are dvc at 4ohm but can be bridged to a single 8ohm.  I would send the high pass to my 2 ways.

Asked by: audio ardvark

Can i split these in half and use them for two subs in a pa application? Power to both subs with one amp and both subs at 8 ohms a piece? (single crossover for both sub cabs each) I don't need the high pass, powering with a separate amp.

Also, is the eight ohms rating per side, paralell, or series?

I have a 2x 15 inch subwoofer [each at 8 ohms], I want to come out of a powered mixer into the subs, then come out of the subs into 2x12inch speakers [each at 8ohms], will these crossover plugs be the right ones to run this system at 4 ohms , ray

Asked by: johnnoray
This crossover will work for that application, but it will still maintain an 8 ohm load on each channel.

How do you wire this crossover?

Asked by: speackerBACKbuilder
The Input wires attach at the top (in+ in-)The output to the sub is connected to the left and right + (the second connector is used for a dual voice coil speaker). The SAT is used as a pass through to your other speakers.
