Steel Mesh 2-Piece Grill for 12" Speaker Black
Steel Mesh 2-Piece Grill for 12" Speaker Black is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works good, looks goodUsed with Dayton Audio DCS305-4 12" sub. Fits perfectly, screw holes lined up exactly with the sub. Looks real good and much easier than making a fabric cover. One reviewer said it vibrated off the speaker. I have not had that issue. He must be playing it REAL LOUD.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality but. Holes needed to be drilled outHoles were a tad too small for the screws I ordered from parts express. Just take a drill bit the same size as your screw and drill the whole bigger. The metal was very soft and easily shaved off from the drill bit to make the holes slightly larger in diameter. Very nice quality.Make sure not to drop it. The paint/metal scratch kinda easily. I learned this the hard way when the lid fell onto my concrete floor as I was assembling. In normal use, they look good and are well built.I was originally concerned, but there is plenty of clearance for the extension of my LAB-12 subwoofer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would work great if it fit my speaker.I own a Kicker comp 12", and this grill simply does not fit. I pitched the inner ring and basically just smacked the outer on till it very snugly fit. definitely lightweight, but as long as no body's gonna try and kick your speaker it's great, and cosmetically pleasing.

Steel Mesh 2-Piece Grill for 12" Speaker Black

How big are the holes in the mesh? Is it easy or difficult to see the speaker behind the grill. I'm looking for something that has 1/8" holes or smaller and hides the speaker.

Asked by: gregerst
The holes in these grills are about 1.8mm in diameter.

I have a Titanic MKIII 12" sub I would like to use this with. Will it fit over the rubber gasket surround? The Titanic is 12.5" diameter soo this looks like it would work. Thanks, Larry

Asked by: pblarry
The grill will likely fit around the frame although it will not provide enough clearance for excursion. Unfortunately we do not have any grills that will work with our high excursion subwoofers unless you use stand offs for this grill, or the bar grills available.

With a 10 7/8" I.D., does this grill fit any of the 12" speakers you sell? Eminence, JBL, Celestion, B&C, and Dayton all require a larger cutout.

Asked by: Jef Bardsley
This product is designed to fit 12" drivers, and does a good job on many. For 12" drivers with larger frames, we would typically recommend moving up to a 15" grill, such as I've linked below.

What size gauge material? And how much room for excursion?

I have an odd sized 10" sub, so I was going to purchase a 12" grill and bolt it to the enclosure. But my sub has 17mm (0.66") of excursion, so I need a grill with at least 3/4" of room.
Asked by: stephen
I unfortunately don't have the gauge of the material, however, it is a robust item. The overall depth is approximately 15/16", so I don't anticipate any difficulties there.

Could you please tell me the ID and OD of the mounting frame?

Asked by: Dave G
The outside diameter of the mounting ring is approximately 12-9/16", with the inside diameter of that outside ring at 12-1/2" to accommodate speakers up to that maximum overall diameter. The inside diameter of the inside of the mounting ring is approximately 10-7/8". I've attached a rough sketch for reference.

My woofer frame is 12.25" in diameter, will these fit?

Asked by: Dave G
This grill will fit a speaker up to 12-1/2" in diameter, so it should fit your speaker just fine.If you have a subwoofer with a large roll surround that protrudes from the frame, this grill is not recommended. The grill below would work though.
