Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality grill cloth!I bought some of this for my Lopoline 2x12 cab. It is very tough and very stiff. It takes a bit of effort to get it stretched over the frame properly. I gig with a band frequently and I can tell it will handle some bumps along the way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little play goes a long wayThis is a great product asthetically although it is not very pliable and alignment both vertical and horizontal with enough tension can be tricky. My suggestion is that you purchase the grill cloth plus a little extra prior to designing your grill frame, play with the material for a while and then determine the best method for attaching the cloth for your design. If you take your time and consider your frame design and how you will attach the cloth you will be rewarded with a great looking speaker front.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Experience with grill clothLike many of the reviewers, this was my first attempt at installing grill cloth (on a home made guitar combo amp). I watched a tutorial on YouTube and went at it. The material is easy to work with, cut and staple. Also, for those of you who didn't do this, the material is designed to stretch under heat. Get it reasonably tight before stapling, then carefully use a hair dryer to warm it up and it tightens up very nicely! The only drawback has already been mentioned, it is more transparent than I had expected. When I make a second speaker option for the amp, I'll either double it up, or try some of the black material behind it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grill ClothAlthough not original it looks good to me. Much better than the piece of curtain that previous owner had been using.

Speaker Grill Cloth Fabric Burgundy/Beige Stripe Yard 36"

I've FINALLY created my grill frames, which are thin pine board.  I'm afraid stapling may crack the pine.  Has anyone had any experience using hot glue with this particular material?  It's so open and porous that I wonder whether it will stick well.

Asked by: lafcadio2
This should work very well with hot glue as long as you give it sufficient time to set. The glue will bleed through the seems and once set, it will act almost like rivets holding the cloth down.

Please inform about the weight of one linear yard (width 36") of Mellotone grill fabrics (261-815). Regards, Milorad

It looks like I will need 38" to cover the width of my solid states grills. I see it comes 36" wide. Do you think I can get enough stretch out of the material to make up for the 2 inches needed to fit?

Asked by: DJTreBicc
Unfortunately this material does not stretch so this will not be possible. You would have to order two yards of the material in order for it to fit properly.

How to remove wrinkles

How have others had issues with severe wrinkles in the fabric? If so, how did you remove them since it is like a vinyl/plastic?
