Speaker Gasketing Tape 1/8" x 1/2" x 50 ft. Roll

Finally! A foam gasketing tape designed specifically for loudspeakers! This specially designed foam tape is excellent for making an airtight seal around drivers, terminals, handles, horn lenses, or any other item that needs installed in your cabinet! The closed cell PVC foam is a dark charcoal color that eliminates unsightly bright-colored seams, while the high-tack adhesive aggressively sticks to all speaker frames-- unlike the "gray stuff" from your hardware store. The 3/8" width can be used on drivers as small as 3"; use the 1/2" width for larger 10's, 12's, 15's, and 18's. 1/8" thick, sold in 50 ft. rolls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice stuffThis is my second roll of this and I have to say,its easy to use, does the sealing well around your drivers.I looked around to see if anyone had this stuff but had no success.Looks like PE has the exclusive on it! As everyone else say's,You Get A lot On A Roll. But if you like messing with speakers, its great to have it on hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice seal, easy to useI used this tape to seal up some 15" pro audio drivers going in a cabinet. Once the adhesive backing is removed, it bends very easily and is quite easy to install. The 50' rolls I purchased will probably last me over the next year or so!One piece of caution though - I had to remove the drivers which I recently installed for a crossover change, and the drivers were so well sealed they did not come out so easily! Some of this can be attributed to the fact that the cutout was pretty snug, but the gasket also seemed to cling to the baffle quite firmly. Just doing it's job I guess!

Speaker Gasketing Tape 1/8" x 1/2" x 50 ft. Roll

thank you foe the answer, do i install the tape on the inside or outside edge of the cabinet cut out

Asked by: Alain
the tape goes on the edge, the pressure pinch point of the frame to box, then check for whistles when you apply speaker current to them

how to you install this gasket tape ?

silly questions but how do you install it directly on the driver? if so inside or outside the screw holes? ot directly on the cut out of the sub cabinet
Asked by: Alain
I recommend applying the foam gasketing tape to the speaker cutout on your cabinet... not to the driver itself. From a construction standpoint, either way works fine... but it's just a bit easier to work with (for me, at least) if you apply it to the cabinet, instead of to the speaker. I would recommend investing in a nice set of X-acto blades, though. They're very handy for cutting and trimming foam gaskets and all sorts of other things.
