Speaker Cabinet Port Tube 2" ID Adjustable
Speaker Cabinet Port Tube 2" ID Adjustable is rated 4.1538 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A very good value. You get a good part for the low price. Although plastic, it had the feel of machined part. The two tubes were snug and the flange mounted flat without bending.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job just fineInexpensive, effective, easy to install. Make sure you use the right hole saw size. Once you have your tube length adjusted correctly you'll want to glue it so it doesn't change length. The 2" tube is big enough for a 6-7" woofer (port diameter should generally be at least 1/3 the diameter of the woofer it is paired with to avoid chuffing noise at higher listening volume).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent tubeUsed the tube in a small footprint (.75 ft^3 internal volume), low-power subwoofer application paired with the SA100 plate amp. Cabinet size prevented use of a larger port tube.During testing in a dummy box, there was audible chuffing even after desired tuning length was determined. The caveat being that chuffing only began at a power level far exceeding realistic max. Rear-port installation and masking from speakers allow the volume to exceed comfortable levels before chuffing can be heard.Subjectively, no port noise is observed during normal use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to do - BUT....A port like this is pretty straightforward and once installed and adjusted to the tuning desired, it does what it's supposed to do.However, I had a problem installing it. Hence the low 'features' rating. The description says a 2 1/4 inch hole is required. I bought a brand new 2 1/4 inch hole saw and cut the hole in my MDF cabinet. The base tube would not fit all the way in so the flange was against the cabinet face. The one I received had a step up in diameter just behind the flange for a short length that intefered with the 2 1/4 inch hole. I had to enlarge the hole about 1/16th inch more using a file and rotary sanding drum (i.e. a un-expected hassle) to get the tube to fit flush. They also could have made the flange OD and mounting hole spacing a bit larger. The mounting holes are precariously close to the enlarged cabinet hole requiring the use of very small wood screws to fasten it in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good ProductI got this product to trim a port that was just under 2 inches in diameter. I thought this would do the trick since it was adjustable, but the od was right at 2 inches and I was not able to make it fit, my mistake. I was able to use it on another port that needed trimming, and it was just over 2 inches in diameter. The product is very rugged and flexible, just make sure your ports diameter is a minimum of 2 inches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works greatthis works great if you use it as intended. All the people who have chuffing issues and such just must not have figured out that when you get to where you know how you need to configure the length you need for your application you just need to caulk of silicone the tube together. They don't chuff or huff or anything other than do what you want them to do. Works great!! Highly recommended!

Speaker Cabinet Port Tube 2" ID Adjustable

What is the thickness of the face flange on this part. I need to know for counter bore depth on the speaker front.

Cutout required doesn't seem right?

The description of the product says the cutout required is 2 1/4 inch diameter. I just got thru puttin a hole that size in my cabinet. The bad news is the port doesn't fit all the way down in the hole so the port flange is flush agains the cabinet surface. It hangs up on a short length of larger diameter just below the flange. Did I do something wrong? or, should the cut out be larger? like 2 3/8 inches?
Asked by: carlos2001
I apologize for the typographical error on our site. Yes, the cutout should be 2-3/8" rather than 2-1/4". I've corrected the information, and I thank you for pointing out our mistake.
