Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is very easy to use & produced great results.I would recommend this to anyone needing good automotive carpet for various project types. It is thick yet easy to cut with a scissors or utility knife or razor blade of course. It stretches some, but you don't really need to if you order enough and plan the application and adhering of it section by section / step by step as I did. I am very pleased with how easy it was to use in all ways and the results are great. I ad never used this item before, and had never done any carpet related work before, so for my first time with it and this this type of work ... I am well pleased. The carpet is thick enough to not need corners or edges to be rounded or sanded off even though I had done all of that as general practice. It also matched pretty closely / well enough for me and my wife too, thank God to the factory trunk carpet. It is, however, very difficult to get even self tapping sheet metal screws through without a good amount of pushing or continuous turning of until they penetrate through; so keep that in mind as the carpet will "wrap around " the screws and go into the pre-drilled pilot holes a bit. Do not use a drill bit to make the holes in the carpet of it will tear badly. As for what it was for and how the project progressed:I measured (several times), designed, drew, fabricated a foam template prototype out of thick poster board from the Dollar Store, traced the final correct shape onto a 3/4 inch thick pine ponderosa board panel from Lowes, cut it to size, drilled all holes for the mounting screws, and installed in uncovered into its intended home: the bottom of the rear deck in our little 201 Hyundai Elantra sedan to be used as a shelf to attach a fire extinguisher and a pair of wire storage bins under for additional storage space for emergency items of various types. I'm a bit of a "prepper".Once all pilot holes were drilled into the rear deck as needed, I then began the carpeting and spray adhesive portion of the project. I used my large folding table on our apartment patio as my work bench and laid out everything there as needed. This part took me three hours including setting up and cleaning up everything. For my first time using this and doing this kind of work, that was good enough. The spray says to apply it to both surfaces; so I did, and it worked great with this carpet.I thought it through first as far as the order of which surface or section of the board needed to covered first, second, third, etc. and it worked out as intended / well. Apply even and thorough and gentle pressure to the carpet as you apply it and smooth out the air underneath and it will work great.
