Sound Bar Bracket for Flat Panel TVs

A sound bar can be great for beefing up TV and home theater sound without taking up too much space. The only challenge is finding a place for it!

There is a solution: this sound bar bracket mounts to the back of a TV and even works when the TV is attached to a wall mount. When repositioning the TV, the sound bar stays in place, right above or below the TV. This bracket accommodates TVs with VESA mounting patterns from 200 x 100 up to 600 x 400 and sound bars of almost any size.

Note: This mount is made to work primarily with sound bars containing threaded inserts on the back. Please review your soundbar's mounting options to ensure compatibility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and inexpensiveI bought this after looking at the competition and I'm glad I did. It works great. It's easy to install and all the possible parts come with it for installation. What's not to like???

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not universalTho product does not fit or work on either of my sound bars. This is only for sound bars that have a screw in on the back of them. My sound bars have ( 1 ) a wall mount hole for screws , ( 2 ) a nipple on back . This sound bar mount does not work on any sound bar . I am gonna have to modify these mounts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ValueSturdy, best price on internet, came with all screws that you may need for just about any Big Screen TV. Mounted my sound bar on top of my TV in about 10 minutes. It is completely adjustable for the height of the sound bar placement above your TV. You can rest it on the TV or have it raised above it also. Piece of cake !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value - Works perfectI purchased these to hang a speaker bar under my 60" TV vs mounting it to the wall. They worked perfect and were better quality than I expected for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bracketsThese brackets work perfectly. It takes some trial and error to adjust them, but the end result is perfect. The price at Parts Express was better than anywhere else. The Shipping was fast and the packaging was very good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very useful. Though I'd suggest caution top-mounting a heavier speaker. Can be used differently than designed with a bit of additional hardware.Ideally typical speakers should be mounted with the tweeters near the ear level of the listeners. So, with a TV centered at eye level, either top-mounting or bottom-mounting the speaker is likely to be a compromise. My own preference in this case is top-mounting. (Of course if the TV is mounted higher than eye level - which isn't best for viewing - then bottom-mounting the speaker should sound better.)In my case I used these brackets to mount a rebuilt Cambridge Soundworks Center Channel II speaker above a 46 inch Toshiba LCD TV. The TV itself is mounted on a cabinet, not on the wall. Since the TV is a bit over four years old it has a relatively thick housing by current standards. I utilized that sturdy housing to support the front of the speaker. Also, rather than attach the brackets from behind as designed, I employed a pair of corner brackets along with 1/4" carriage bolts and washers to support the rear of the speaker from beneath the base. This allows the speaker sit farther back and not protrude beyond the front of the TV.Unfortunately, this technique would not be applicable with a set mounted close by the wall. In that case most of the speaker would necessarily protrude over the front of the TV. Personally I wouldn't be comfortable top-mounting a heavy speaker with this arrangement, especially one with a deep cabinet. The reason being that all the speaker weight would hang out in front of the bracket tops. I think the resulting front load on the top end of the brackets would naturally bend them forward resulting in a springier than ideal suspension for the speaker.Instead I think bottom-mounting a heavy speaker with these brackets would make the most sense mechanically. That way the brackets would be loaded in tension and any deflection caused by the weight of the speaker hanging in front of the brackets would rotate the bracket ends back against the wall thereby maintaining greater rigidity for the mount (possibly aided by utilizing some additional vinyl bumpers between the brackets and the wall).Mounting the way I did was easy enough. The only minor complication was having to file down the flats of the carriage bolts so they would fit through the slots in the brackets. I also used some adhesive-backed vinyl feet which came with the speaker to support the front on the TV housing.

What are the dimensions of these brackets? Overall length or rough dimensions would be great to know. Thanks in advance for your help.

Asked by: SoundmanMike
The brackets are 17-1/2" long. The holes on the ong side are 4" long and 5/16" wide each, the holes on the short side are 1-3/4" long and 1/4" wide each.
