4 Ohm speakers?
Will this drive 4-5ohm speakers?
Unfortunately no, this receiver is only rated for 6-16 ohm loads.

Is it okay to use this with a pair of 8Ω speakers (110W each)?
Yes, this receiver is rated for 8Ω speakers, and supports 100W per channel. You might not get quite the power output if you intend to turn it up to extreme levels, but you'd be hard pressed to notice any difference (nor would those listening levels be comfortable in any home application).

stereo modes, too?
hi, does this 5.1 unit also have a 2 channel stereo more and/or a 5 channel stereo mode? (for listening to CD's or whatever that are not recorded in mutli-channel)thanks.
This receiver is a 2-channel stereo device. There are simulated surround modes for 2 speakers, and for headphones. There are also line level inputs for 5.1 channel material; however, those would be used for virtual surround, or "downmixed" for 2-channel output.
