Product Details

Selenium D220Ti 1" Titanium Horn Driver 8 Ohm 1-3/8"-18

The Selenium D220Ti-8 horn driver's diaphragm is formed from pure, rigid, light, and extremely thin titanium (0.025 mm). To avoid stress and distortion, the suspension has specially designed reinforcement. An injected-molded phase plug is optimized to eliminate undesirable phase cancellations.

The D220Ti-8's ceramic magnetic assembly effectively concentrates flux in the gap, and highest motor strength efficiency is achieved through the use of FEA (Finite Element Analysis). A voice coil manufactured in CCAW (Copper Clad Aluminum Wire) and wound on a polyimide former assures great stability and thermal resistance, and the moving assembly has a perfect auto-centering characteristic that makes replacement easy if required. Standard 1-3/8"-18 TPI screw-on mounting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from D220TiA nice upgrade. The original tweeters that came in my JBL JRX 125's kind of sucked. They were harsh and undefined. The D220Ti's did bring clarity and reduce the harsh highs of my tweeters. So, all in all these tweeters were a good buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Selenium D220Ti 1" Titanium Horn Driver 8 OhmThe "Selenium D220Ti 1" Titanium Horn Driver 8 Ohm 1-3/8"-18 is tight, clean, and is a certain upgrade to most speaker boxes where high end is essential. I am using two EV FM monitors in my system and this new driver out performs my EV with the original. Easy install with heavy duty housing and girth. Won't disappoint!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from sounds great!,,,butbought this to replace blown driver in JBL pa speaker. the sound is very good, much better than the original, however the physical size (almost) prevented mounting. the magnet is larger and pressed against the recessed handle in the top of the cabinet. so far it hasn't caused any abnormal noise or vibration so i'm going to keep it for the improved sound quality.

I want to use these horn drivers in a pair of 2 way floor monitors that I am rebuilding. How powerful should I make the 12" woofer to match these horns? And where should the crossover be set at?

Asked by: Monsta

Hi I own pair of mrx525 and I need to replace the highs on them. I want to know if d220ti would fit .

Asked by: Tariq
Yes these will fit those horn lenses.

How would this compare to dayton audio's polymide horn drivers? I currently have the Daytons but they emit a constant low volume static sound that's about, 40-50 decibels, just loud enough to be annoying

Asked by: Tyler99
The static you are hearing is going to be amplifier related. The horn drivers are very sensitive so an amplifier "hiss" will be much more pronounced through something like this as opposed to a less sensitive home audio speaker for example. Unfortunately changing the horn drivers will not really help this issue.

Is this 18 TPI and is it compatible with a Behringer B215D speaker system?

Asked by: cary10
Yes this is 1-3/8" 18 TPI but I do not know the compatibility with the Behringer speaker. If it is also a threaded mount this will work without a problem.

I bought two Selenium D220TI to upgrade the drivers in my JBL JRX125 speakers. However, I could not unscrew the old driver from my JBL speakers; it is so tight. Is it normal? How can unscrew it. Thanks for help.

Asked by: tvodgm
These drivers can be pretty tight, so it might take some muscle. Those drivers are standard screw-type and I believe the fittings are all metal, so you shouldn't break anything unless you really do something wrong.
