Selenium D220Ti 1" Titanium Horn Driver 8 Ohm 1-3/8"-18

The Selenium D220Ti-8 horn driver's diaphragm is formed from pure, rigid, light, and extremely thin titanium (0.025 mm). To avoid stress and distortion, the suspension has specially designed reinforcement. An injected-molded phase plug is optimized to eliminate undesirable phase cancellations.

The D220Ti-8's ceramic magnetic assembly effectively concentrates flux in the gap, and highest motor strength efficiency is achieved through the use of FEA (Finite Element Analysis). A voice coil manufactured in CCAW (Copper Clad Aluminum Wire) and wound on a polyimide former assures great stability and thermal resistance, and the moving assembly has a perfect auto-centering characteristic that makes replacement easy if required. Standard 1-3/8"-18 TPI screw-on mounting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from D220TiA nice upgrade. The original tweeters that came in my JBL JRX 125's kind of sucked. They were harsh and undefined. The D220Ti's did bring clarity and reduce the harsh highs of my tweeters. So, all in all these tweeters were a good buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Selenium D220Ti 1" Titanium Horn Driver 8 OhmThe "Selenium D220Ti 1" Titanium Horn Driver 8 Ohm 1-3/8"-18 is tight, clean, and is a certain upgrade to most speaker boxes where high end is essential. I am using two EV FM monitors in my system and this new driver out performs my EV with the original. Easy install with heavy duty housing and girth. Won't disappoint!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from sounds great!,,,butbought this to replace blown driver in JBL pa speaker. the sound is very good, much better than the original, however the physical size (almost) prevented mounting. the magnet is larger and pressed against the recessed handle in the top of the cabinet. so far it hasn't caused any abnormal noise or vibration so i'm going to keep it for the improved sound quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally!!!!!!!!As a DIY speaker builder, I have been searching for a tweeter that actually sounds like music for years. I have paid my dues with domes, ring radiators, inverted ceramic, ribbon, bullet, 077, T35, "baby cheek", you name it . It finally dawned on me (after having spent 15 years performing in front of a live orchestra, and 10 years in front of a live drum kit) that typical "hi-if" tweeters lacked the one thing that they needed despite all the technological advancements. It's called DYNAMICS. !! I cannot hear out to 40 kHz and neither can you. What I CAN tell is if a tweeter can make a ride cymbal sound like its in your listening room. The D220 TI can. My journey naturally took me to experimenting with "pro" drivers. Most sounded like just that. PA speakers. As I was about to give up and just stick with my Foster Japanese horns, I gave these a try and my jaw dropped. Don't expect continuous highs where there aren't any (like most of the "high fidelity"aerosol spray can sizzle" offerings (which splash and turn every cymbal crash into a distorted blast of noise.) When a wooden stick hits a brass ride cymbal, you will be mezmorized. Yes, you need the proper flare according to your design, and yes they are padded.I also incorporated the Selenium D 250 Trio as a mid driver (which made my "state of the art" dome midrange driver sound like a compressed soup can!) Yes, you can utilize so-called pro drivers into a home environment if you choose wisely and pad them appropriately. This mid driver made strings , horns and voice sound (again) like they were in my listening room. (Mind you the l-pad goes from 0 to 10 and the setting is at .5.Don't settle for a miniature version of what real music sounds like. The difference you hear in the concert hall or opera house is DYNAMICS!, not frequency response. Many many thanks to Parts Express.

Selenium D220Ti 1" Titanium Horn Driver 8 Ohm 1-3/8"-18

I bought two Selenium D220TI to upgrade the drivers in my JBL JRX125 speakers. However, I could not unscrew the old driver from my JBL speakers; it is so tight. Is it normal? How can unscrew it. Thanks for help.

Asked by: tvodgm
These drivers can be pretty tight, so it might take some muscle. Those drivers are standard screw-type and I believe the fittings are all metal, so you shouldn't break anything unless you really do something wrong.

Asked by: DJ pirata
The JRX series cabinets use standard 1-3/8" screw on type horn drivers, so this model will work perfectly fine as a replacement.

If is possible to put a ferrofluid in this drivers ,mean not to ruin the voice coil or change the specs of ?

Asked by: slay993
You can add ferrofluid although the characteristics of the driver will change. With a driver that doesn't normally use ferrofluid there isn't really a benefit to adding it in my opinion.

Just checking if these are the correct HF drivers for the Eurolive B615D. Also what is the postage to Australia via UPS or USPS (postcode 6160)

Asked by: shanus
These will work as long as the Behringer horns have a standard threaded mount and the depth is not an issue.

Can I replace the horns in my floor standing Klipsch F3's with these?

Asked by: Han Boo
Chances are they will not have the same mount. The Klipsch drivers are usually proprietary and replacements are only available from Klipsch directly.
