Round Speaker Wire Terminal Cup Spring Type
Round Speaker Wire Terminal Cup Spring Type is rated 4.375 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sturdy, but plating doesn't take solder. These are actually a favorite terminal plate of mine, inconsistent with the low rating that I give to them. They have a foam seal on them, which will require one to route a recess 1/4 inch deep if you're going to recess them - not an issue if you don't plan on recessing them. Be aware that the plating on the terminals don't permit solder to adhere very well, and trying to make a good connection will melt the plastic. I recommend using push-on crimp terminals, which I haven't had a problem with once they're squashed to make a tight connection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't hold solder and the center plastic is looseFirst off, solder won't stick to these at all. I don't have flux in stock at home so I was forced to lightly sand the terminals to get an solder to stick. Even so, I'm not sure if I trust the solder connection. I tried 3 different solder types, too. I'll be forever distrustful of these speakers now.Second, the black inside terminal boxes fall out. If you look at the picture, it's a 2-piece design. Well, it falls apart in 2 pieces. The insides tabs slide through the notch and the whole center piece comes out. I'm not sure if this is part of the design, but I had to glue it.I'd had no problems with the other PE press fit terminals, but these have been a nightmare. This is my first 1 start review...ever I think.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly What it Should Be.These terminals are high quality, inexpensive, and simple. You can either use disconnect plugs or solder the wire on the inside, and whats easier than just using straight speaker wire on the outside? Buy these if you want some simple speaker wire terminals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fitI just finished upgrading my Optimus STS-200 pawn shop speaker project. After removing the old terminal, these fit perfectly in the hole. I like the foam seal that came with it since my speakers are acoustically sealed. I also bought two L-pads and caps to complete this project. The sound now is incredible. Love doing projects like this.
