Rotary Switch 2 Pole 6 Position Shorting
Just received switch, it is not what I need. I need a switch that connects the common lead to each position and keeps each position ON as I turn the knob (Shorting switch). Do you have such an Item. Richard

Can I use this switch to replace a GE main switch (factory part # wp28x56) for an air conditionier?
Looking up that part number, I can see why you are looking for alternatives, wow. There are two possible problems with this rotarty switch. It is only rated for 300mA. That could be enough, but only can tell with some testing of the main switch power. Second this switch has solder lugs and it looks as if you need a board mount with solder pins, but you could always run wire from the board to the lugs if needed. Also check to see if you need a make before break(MBB/Shorting) or Break Before Make (BBM/Non-Shorting). PE has both types.
