Replacement Speaker Driver for Bose 901 4-1/2" 1 Ohm
I need to replace some of the series one '901'speakers -would these work?
No series ones and twos drivers were 8 ohm each. 3 sets of 3 s/p wired to nominal 8 ohm

Is this the same 4" door speaker used in the 2001 Audi A4 Bose system?
I know your post is pretty old but if your speaking in reference to the front speakers in your Audi they look identical. They have the same Reuleaux triangle shape and the surface area on the drivers are 4"even though it's still a 4 1/2" driver. Bose used the 901 drivers in some of their other products(Bose Freestyle) as well so the idea isn't farfetched. If you haven't replaced it already i'd say try it. It would just be a $20 failed experiment if it doesn't work.

Will this fit a Bose 151 cabinet?
I have a dead Bose 108515P driver. Do you have a sketch or dimensions (like bolt-circle diameter) available? Regards, Larry
Unfortunately this driver is only suitable for the Bose 901 cabinets due to its 1 ohm impedance. The 151 drivers are 8 ohm and using these as replacements would potentially damage your amplifier.

Is this suitable for a Bose Lifestyle outdoor speaker? It looks the same size etc.
If the Lifestyles speaker uses the triangle-framed Bose driver, this replacement will work. They were all 1ohm drivers.

How come there is no Xmax parameter given?
The Bose 901 driver uses an "Evenhung" topology, which is different from the "overhung" or "underhung" topologies used in most other speaker drivers. In an "overhung" topology, the voice coil is longer than the magnetic gap, and Xmax is calculated as the coil length minus the gap length and then divided by two. This provides the distance that the coil can move in either direction while keeping the magnetic gap completely full of VC windings. In an 'underhung' topology, powerful magnets are used to create a long magnetic gap, and the coil height is shorter than the height of the gap. In that design, Xmax is equal to the gap height minus the coil height and then divided by two. In an evenhung topology, the coil height is the same as the gap height. There is no easy way to calculate the effective Xmax parameter apart from costly and time-consuming measurements of the distribution of magnetic flux in the field. The real-world usable Xmax of these drivers is between 2 and 3 mm, but working together, they can move as much air as a larger driver with longer excursion. However, we don't publish this value because it's based strictly on observation and not measurement.

Will these work with a swapout of my Car Bose System?
I have a 2006 Nissan Armada with a Bose system. The dash 3" tweeters went out on me. Will these be the speakers to swap themout for? Is the wiring the same attachment as bose?
These drivers are designed to replace the drivers in Bose 901 and Bose Panaray 802 speakers only. They are probably not suitable for replacing your car speakers; consult your Nissan dealer to obtain the correct replacements for your Bose audio system, since it is a Nissan vehicle and they will have the parts.
