RCA Line Level Audio Attenuator 3 dB
can they be connected together to achieve more attenuation?
It seems possible if it's just resistors inside... but whether or not a -3db with a -6db unit together makes -9db, (or any other combination,) could use some clarification.i've read that if they are used in reverse, they attenuate less. other than being less effective, (which could be handy, like getting 2 in 1,) would there be any real negative (sound degrading/equipment harming) side-effects?also, in which direction are they meant to be used? (ie. does current flow from male to female?) i'm sure i could figure it out with a multi-meter or listening test, but they're still in the mail for a few days.... i'd just like to be able to plan my cables and what have ya, so there's no surprises.thanks in advance!
Yes these can be used together to get more attenuation. -3db + -3db=-6db. -3db+-6db=-9db in either direction. My only concern is that two of these units "piggybacked" would make an easy break of one or both of the RCA male plugs once a cable is connected. Other than that it should be fine.
