Radian 1225-16 Diaphragm Fits Most JBL 1" 16 Ohm

Radian manufactures replacement diaphragms that fit popular compression drivers found in home and professional loudspeaker systems. Each diaphragm employs aluminum alloy dome/Mylar® surround construction to provide high efficiency, accurate reproduction, and extended bandwidth. Radian's use of sophisticated materials and processes results in diaphragms that have equivalent or better performance than the original. Made in the USA. Fits 16 ohm JBL LE85/LE175, 2420, 2421, 2425, 2426, 2427, 2470.

Radian manufactures premium replacement diaphragms that fit popular compression drivers used in professional loudspeaker systems. Each aluminum alloy replacement diaphragm provides high efficiency and accurate reproduction with extended bandwidth. Replacement diaphragms are designed and manufactured to have equivalent or better performance than the original.

Compression domes are precision formed from heat-treated, structural aluminum alloy and bonded to a copper-clad aluminum voice coil with a Kapton® former utilizing proprietary tooling. Aluminum has a higher strength-to-weight ratio than titanium providing low-distortion, high-fidelity response that delivers clear, crisp music and speech for theatrical, auditorium, stadium and church installations.

The suspension is made of specially developed Mylar®. Utilizing a Mylar® surround enhances the replacement diaphragm’s reliability and eliminates fatigue stresses that destroy other compression driver diaphragms. The Mylar® surround also provides good dampening of the voice coil/diaphragm assembly for smooth, low-distortion, linear output with excellent transient response. To ensure longer diaphragm life, our high temperature voice coil former and advanced adhesives permit each replacement diaphragm to sustain high RMS and peak power levels, equivalent or better than the original.

The diaphragm/voice coil assembly may be rapidly readily replaced in the field. The self-aligning diaphragm assembly assures simple installation and accurate alignment with same polarity as the original.

Unparalleled power handling, high-frequency performance, reliability and low-distortion make Radian premium replacement diaphragms the preferred choice for loudspeaker repair centers, consultants, sound system designers, contractors and engineers worldwide.

Radian 1225-16 Diaphragm Fits Most JBL 1" 16 Ohm
Radian 1225-16 Diaphragm Fits Most JBL 1" 16 Ohm is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds Better Than OEM JBL Diaphragm, IMHO...I have successfully replaced around 1/2 dozen OEM JBL diagrams in JBL horn drivers. I sweep them at 500Hz to 1Khz while carefully tightening the mounting screws to insure the voice coil is not rubbing along with the rest of the replacement procedures. We had a pair of JBL 4430 studio monitors in the audio lab at RCA in Indianapolis. They sounded wonderful and I still consider that model my personal listening reference for all my audio work. The 4430's horn driver used a diaphragm that this item replaces. Anyway, I have a pair of the 4430 horn and drivers in current use in a larger room used for live performances. I have tried everything using all JBL OEM drivers, but I just could not get the rich smooth sound I remembered from the studio monitors. We lost another diaphragm recently due to microphone feedback. A vendor recommend I try this diaphragm as they are reportedly a bit more sturdy and smooth sounding than the OEM JBL. I was very reluctant to move to a different brand than JBL, but I just installed one of these. In my opinion, this diaphragm duplicates the rich and smooth studio monitor sound using the clean analog source material with the built in analog crossovers built into the 4430's. I am very pleased with the sound of these diaphragms. Snare drums have sharp and accurate attack and sound very real. Vocals are smooth and pleasing. I have not run pink noise on these yet compared to the OEM JBL diaphragms, but I will certainly log the difference in my notes for future reference. I recommend using this model compared to off brand replacements if one is looking to save money. Again, in my opinion, these sound better than the OEM JBL replacements. -hightechhick

Radian 1225-16 Diaphragm Fits Most JBL 1" 16 Ohm

Does this diaphragm fit a Sunn SPL1225 16 ohm driver?

Asked by: JeromeV
No, this driver is designed specifically for replacing JBL diaphragms. The driver used in your SUNN speaker is not a JBL driver. From a little web searching, it looks like the HF driver in your SUNN speakers may be a rebranded Eminence HF driver so I would recommend investigating an Eminence replacement diaphragm. However, this is not a guarantee that a non-original Eminence diaphragm will work in your SUNN compression driver.
