Pyramid TW18 Bullet Horn Super Tweeter Pair Aluminum
Pyramid TW18 Bullet Horn Super Tweeter Pair Aluminum is rated 4.5556 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from CRISP AND CONCISEI've owned quite a few of these Pyramid tweeters before, but this particular set of bullets are new to me.The sound was exactly what I was expecting and more. I hooked them up to a high pass filter, removed the caps that came with them, and immediately noticed the clarity. Even at very low volumes, these tweeters let you know that they are doing their job.The sound is clear, distinctive, and quite honestly, very pleasing. They do get a bit harsh if you are standing a bit too close to them and your amp is close to max, but step back a few feet and you realize that they are doing exactly what they are supposed to do.Actually, they work so good as tweeters, I think I need some more mids to give me more range!!For the price and the quality, the look and performance, this pair of bullets is a pretty sweet deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from alot of bang for the buck!!i bought these to upgrade my old pioneer stereo cabinets. these were wired to altec 3 way crossovers that i used to upgrade also. they perform flawlessly. outstanding crisp highs, with no breakup at 60 watts, 8 ohms. i might buy another pair to upgrade another pair of cabinets i have. these were a great purchase. shipping was pretty fast and the cost was very reasonable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet !These are replacements for my Cerwin Vega DX-9's (3-way floor standers). These are vintage monsters, with incredible sound....arguably by many the best home speakers Cerwin Vega ever made. They reproduce audiophile quality sound and really pump as well. My 20 year old tweeters finally got tired, and "left the building"! Since no direct replacement are available, I had to shop. I chose these because I have a 3" cutout in my speakers, and I did not want to enlarge the box holes. I did have to notch just a tad for the terminals, but no biggie. They seemed the best balance on size, power handling, and frequency response. Well, they are really sweet! They are not quiet, but not overbearing either. They produce a more open, cleaner and detailed soundstage than the stock tweeters. As far as power handling, I have a Rotel 700 watt per channel Amplifier, and I tested em out about 1/2 throttle (very, very loud) and they did not blink. They stayed crisp with no hint of distortion and really improved overall sound. For the price of these....I had serious doubts. Let me tell ya.......this is one of the best bargains I have ever run across! You will not go wrong with these solid, heavy little beauties! As far as Parts-Express goes......this was my first experience. Immediate ship, had em in 2 days! Flawless experience and will definitely use again. Thanks! Gene T.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice sounding tweeters, ignore the 300wI reviewed these tweeters earlier when I used to use them in some home made PA speakers and still think they have great sound. If your PA use style is Small venue DJing, spoken, folk, classic , alternative than these are great sounding tweeters. But:the 300w on the sticker and on the box in big letters is a sales gimmick. I foolishly thought they could take up to 300w. One of the first larger gigs i used these at, which required more volume (rock show) fried these even though they were hooked up to a 200w thermal overload. I bet the 60w-120max is the real rating.if you are looking to make or repair a multi purpose speaker that is used for medium or light PA and hi-fi these are a good deal. just dont expect you can crank them to 300 watts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kinda hotThese speakers are a little louder than I thought they would be so I'll have to get an l-pad to tone them down. Some of the info PE has is not correct. These tweeters are rated at 300 watts. I'm assuming that's for the pair. Sensitivity is 96dB and I checked them with a meter confirming that each is a 4 ohm load. Each driver comes with a 3.3 uf capacitor which would pass everything over 9000 Hz. They sound lively without being brittle or harsh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT FOR THE PRICEFor the price you cannot go wrong great construction very powerful on the high frequencies. Now I can hear all the SSSSS when watching a movie. I have three of these one for center channel and the other two for left and right. I must say with these it seemed like it was raining in my garage/move room when watching movies. GREAT BUY.

Pyramid TW18 Bullet Horn Super Tweeter Pair Aluminum

These tweeters come with a capacitor- can I use other values? One lead goes to a terminal, where does the other lead attach to?

Asked by: Race
The tweeters come with the highest value you should use, You can use a lower value instead as that will raise the crossover point. The other lead would connect to the positive speaker wire.

My confusion- are the terms driver & speaker one and the same? They seem to be used interchangeably in the descriptions and discussions.

Asked by: Race
A driver is any individual speaker component.

Hi, this is in all probability a very dumb question, but since I'm a newbie, here goes: can this tweeter be used with a 6.5 woofer without a crossover? Just what does a crossover do?

Asked by: Race
Some sort of crossover would be needed to keep low frequencies from getting into the tweeter. A high pass filter would be the minimum requirement here.

Car tweeter?

I have a 2001 suburban, it has factory tweeters in the front doors, and the D pillars in the rear, would these work in the truck? If so, would I just wire them to the existing wires? Or is there a better option?
Asked by: Jason4x4
These will for in a car application. Whether they can be wired direcly into the factory location is determined by the crossover point of the factory system. These tweeters are safest crossed at 3.5kHz or higher.
