Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Christmas LightsI am using this amp in conjunction with my FM transmitter for walkers coming by to see our Christmas lights. Didn't need to fill the neighborhood with sound, just small area in front of the house. Good dynamic range for being a low power amplifier.

Can I use this amp to hook my book shelf stereo speakers to my desktop PC

Asked by: beishke
Yes, as long as you have an available analog audio output on the desktop computer to go to one of the analog inputs of this amplifier. By making this connection you would be able to connect a computer and drive 15 watts of power to each speaker.

Will this amp support a push-to-talk mic? If so, do you sell push-to-talk mics? If music is playing will the mic cut out the music when using mic? Thank you.

Asked by: jrhodes445
No, you can use a mic with a switch but not the push to talk direct wire in type. It does not have a "Ducking" feature to lower the other inputs while the mic is in use.

Strange Interference

When I go from a DVD player with RF jacks to your amp, then to speakers, I get music interference in the background! It doesn't happen when I come off of the COX receiver box. Why is that? Can this amp pick up outdoor transmissions? But, then why only when I come off of the DVD player?
Asked by: sluggo
sounds like you have the problem in your dvd player. to trouble shoot the problem, try hooking the dvd player directly to a tv and see if the interference is going though the tv too. if not, then your amplifier is haunted by a band of ghosts. that or the amplifier -is- getting interference from radio stations. try to return this if it is the problem, and just tade up to the DTA-1 , which would mean better quality and more wattage at the same price. in reality, this amp only gets 2x5 watts at 1%THD, and is shoddily built in the first place. hope this helps.
