Pyle PT720A 70V Amplifier with Tuner
Pyle PT720A 70V Amplifier with Tuner is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pyle Pt720A Amp/TunerSorry to say this is not a very good product -- It has many nice features but -- The sound quality is very poor for both 70 volt and 8 ohm outputs. The sensitivity AM\FM Tuner is very poor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pyle PT720A - a product to avoidHave previously purchased other Pyle units and have had out of box failures, but ultimately received a unit that worked. Most recent purchase was the Pyle PT720A and experienced two out of box failures. Loud warning beep when unit is turned on, hiss in background, extremely loud pop when unit is turned off.Nice features, nice looking, but very poor quality control.

HOW MANY WATTS FOR 70 VOLT APPLICATIONS

IM INSTALLING 32 70VOLT CEILING SPEAKERS TAPED AT 10 WATTS EACH. SO I NEED ABOUT 300WATTS AT 70 VOLTS. IF NOT THIS AMP DO YOU HAVE ANOTHER.
Asked by: GLENNBO
I do not have first-hand experience with this unit, but I work with constant voltage systems frequently and can provide the following insight, if it helps:The quoted fuse rating for this unit is 5A for 110v systems (per back panel) which means the manufacturer expects this device to consume (from the mains power source) no more than around 500w in normal operation.A class A/B amplifier (at the output devices) is ordinarily going to be around 60-65% efficient but with a 70V transformer - probably somewhat light on the copper as this is a budget amplifier - we're probably closer to 50-55% efficient. I'm going to be generous and say you can probably expect 250 watts from this device in a commercial application. Maybe 300ish, but I'd worry about heat and equipment failure in that realm. I would definitely not recommend 32x10w taps unless reliability isn't critical for you. If you can get away with 32x7.5w taps for your application, that would probably be OK.

Will this power Bose commercial speakers?
