Rated 5 out of 5 by from The speakers were definitly NOT the best featuresI ordered these speakers on the August 3rd & received them today!!! ONE FRIGGIN' day, and they were everything as promised and every single one I purchased tested out far beyond specs. Parts Express is THE fastest online audio/video parts company I have ever used, and as far as I'm concerned, the ONLY one from here on out!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great choice for my project.I recently bought a pair of these Pyle Audio - Pyle PPA6 6-1/2" PA Speakers, to replace the original speakers in my Rockman XP100 guitar amplifier. I was a little nervous that I wouldn't get the same sound, but was immediately blown away at how clear and tight the sound is now. If anyone out there has been searching for replacement speakers for their Rockman XP100, these are the ones you want!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great sound for the priceI installed this woofer for a repair in a compact all-in-one pa somebody had made out of screwing a small RadioShack 40 watt pa amp to a home bookshelf speaker. The old woofer had blown. This woofer is very efficient and has a smooth response. Sound and build quality is a lot better than I expected for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great soundI found out I didn't really need these, but I decided to try them anyways. I thought I had blown a woofer, and decided to try these as replacements. In removing the speakers, I learned a lead had come loose, creating the problem, but I decided to install these anyways, just for kicks. These speakers are only used to avoid blowing the power amp of my board (I use powered speakers these days), and as a fill for dead spots in a room. They are much less efficient than the old woofers, but the sound is very good. Only time will tell which I prefer, the pyle woofers or the pyle full range.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Speakers - Good Deal for PriceWhen purchasing these I knew they weren't going to be "amazing". For the most part that's the truth. I installed mine in a some old infinity speaker cabs. They fit nicely. I use them for a 3rd set of studio monitors. They give an honest "consumer speaker" sound. So they work great for checking my mixes on a cheaper system to make sure that my songs sound tight on different speaker sets. They don't have a lot of bass, so I'd recommend buying a sub for whatever arrangement you use these with. But for what I use them for, they work perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pyle Pro 6.5" Mid/Bass driverI was impressed with the amount of bass that these 6.5" drivers emitted. The original foam surrounds on my second pair of Peavey CL-2 cluster speakers rotted out. I decided to replace them with these. They were too punchy, at first. So I decided to use 3 of these and 3 of the original drivers, (Refoamed), in each cabinet. The combination gave me the bass and mids that I was looking for. The voicing and clarity that the CL-2s put out now, make them perfect for voice reproduction. I stack the two sets on top of my speaker arrays. Powered by the internal Dayton 250 watt mixer/amp plate each, (2 sets of CL-2s = 500 watts per side), they fire across the audience and give the voices a nice added clarity.

what is a crossover and what is its perpess

Asked by: harley09
A crossover if a filter that only allows a certain range for sound to get to the speaker. They are generally used to blend speakers together and to protect then from bass

What would be the best way to get close to 8 ohms in a six-spkr configuration .  So as not to have to re-do x-over in two way system at 1200hz.  I'm thinking 3 in series paralleled to the other three. That would be 12 +/-.

Asked by: Pipaw
If you can get away with a 6 ohm load you can wire two sets of three in parallel, then wire the two sets together in series for a ~5.3 ohm load. If you need 8 ohms or higher, you will have to wire two sets in series and then together in parallel for a 12 ohm load.

From my previous question. If i wanted to use two ports instead of one what size ports should i use? Original port length and height was 6 inches and 3 inches. Tuning frequency 67hz.

Asked by: DoItYourself
Two 2" diameter, 2" long ports will provide the same tuning frequency.

What would the recommended port length/diameter be when two speakers would be placed in a Trapezoidal Prism (Front height 7 inches, rear height 4 inches, side length 12 inches, width 24 inches) Material thickness 3/4 inch.

Asked by: DoItYourself
I would recommend a port diameter of 3" and a length of 6" which will tune the enclosure to 67 Hz.

What material is the voice coil made out of? Your description states aluminum in the Overview section and Kapton in the Highlight section. So which one is it?

Asked by: DoItYourself
Kapton / polyimide voice coil.
