from Thiele/Small parametersHave had these for a few years , running them in a U-baffle as "helper" woofers for some 12" fullrange . Haven't been using that system much lately, so the specs might not be exactly as if they were freshly run, but they are certainly not "new out of the box".Mainly run with a 120wpc amp from 150hz and lower.Specs taken with WT3 while PPA18's were mounted in U-baffle, so anechoic/free air specs might be a bit different due to a bit of baffle loading.Just wanted to share this as the specs are MUCH different than what Pyle claims.Re: 6.939 ohmsFs:26.24Qts:1.374Qes:1.961Qms:4.593Le:2.609mHIn my estimation they are much closer to 90db than 94db.At one point I had a pair of them powered with 200wpc (rms) each and fed through an Ashley electronic crossover and an old Marantz EQ. Even in an "Open Baffle" (U-baffle) they put out some pretty serious bass !Are they the best ? No. They are an inexpensive 18". Are there better 18"s for your money ? Maybe, I haven't tried any others ;) .The major issue I have with them is that the baskets are pretty ringy, but that's nothing a little rope caulk or Mortite can't fix.Based on my experience I think they work pretty good as Open Baffle helper woofers to augment a FR driver. I also think they would fair pretty well as an Infinite Baffle sub , as long as you kept power handling in mind. With the EQ and electronic xover they were putting out some serious bottom end, and I never once heard them distress , not even playing Rob Zombies Hellbilly Deluxe at very high SPL.
