How much power (volts & amps) is this rated for?
I assume 12 volts is fine, but how many amps is it rated for?
A typical automotive circuit will actually deliver 14 Volts. In the specs this unit is fused for 10 Amperes, so the total continuous power draw could (!) be as high as:14V x 10A = 140 WattsAt this continuous rate and assuming a typical efficiency of roughly 50%, you will get an actual maximum continuous output of 70 Watts total, or 35 Watts per channel. That is PLENTY of power to fill a large living room and certainly enough for any car or boat! While this unit is also rated at a total power delivery of 2 x 300W = 600 Watts, this can only be assumed as short peak delivery for spikes that would have to come from internal power supply buffer capacitors. If you were to "crank" it to this insane level constantly, you would certainly blow the fuse.

Can I hook an IPOD straight to this amp?
I want to make an ice chest stereo. I want to buy the Speakers separately so that I could use better ones than you have in the package deal. Can I make this product work without a head unit?
