from Great Subwoofer ValueWe have used these drivers for prototype testing and PA gear. It would be nice to have a complete set of parameters but ... Oh, well. The price point is right. The power handling is a bit optimistic. We have blown some up in prototype testing but the cost makes the them the perfect test mule. However, properly setup with a high pass of say 30Hz and a limit set in the 70 volt range these units sound great and will deliver the bass show after show at high SPL.

from Great Sub for the dollar!!!!!!To start off disregard anything K-Spaz has to say because he is what was wrong with that whole project. I have bought thousands of speakers in my life and have never heard of a magnet getting energized from the factory. He probably had the sibs in a single cab and they were out of phase from one another, that is when the speakers move and you hear nothing. And if they bad out of the box PE would have paid to ship them back, not him. I own over 20 of these any use them in a pro sound rig. For the price you get these for they are a very good speaker. I use them in Meyer 650R2 and EV MTL1-X cabs and they work great in both of them. So anyone that wants a great cheap pro sound sub these are it. I run Crown I-Tech 6000's into them and the handle it all day long.www.rsmsound.com

from Both Defective?Got two of these for a home theater project, built enclosures, etc. Powered them with Behringer A500's in bridged Mono. Had quite a time figuring out what was wrong. With 700+ MEASURED input watts, I could easily put my head up to the speaker with a test tone playing. Came to the conclusion that the magnets had never been energized at the factory, and that they had to go back. Cha Ching on the shipping... While they would shake some (with incredible input power), clearly these were not working correctly. I should have been suspect when the SPL of 101 is quoted but the price is so low. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.Maybe I got the rare duds and these really are a great deal. I am not trying 2 more to find out.On a side note, the specs quoted are highly inaccurate, right down to the weights, and dimensions. This speaker is 18.5" in overall diameter, and the mounting flat on the back of the speaker is ~.800", so the cutout should be considerably smaller than the literature says. Wait till you have this speaker in hand before cutting, just in case there are multiple versions of it.
