from An excellent valueI installed a pair of these midranges together with mid/tweeter horns in DIY midrange/tweeter cabs. I specifically wanted them to cover the low midrange, and they do so beautifully, delivering a nice, clean, natural sound. I am a former mobile DJ, and these midranges remind me of the Pyle drivers of the 1970s and 1980s. Now, as an amateur, deejaying parties in my backyard, I can still get that great performance I remember from back in the day.

from possible differences in manufacture quality may affect soundI have plenty experience with Pyle and Pyle pro. These were a little expensive, but wanted some GOOD mid-range hi-power for my car-box.I bought 2 of these 292-2568 Pyle 8" sealed mid-range spkrs, but have a technical issue: During mechanical inspection, one spkr cone feels really dampened, what I believe to be normal for a sealed-back spkr; and the other one is really loose-pushes in easily and springs back quickly. The loose one is "leaking" I think, unless the stiffer one is bad some how, but they need to be the same. Not saying this is bad, but noticed the difference. I orderd a 3rd one and it was much like the 2nd one, loose and "leaky."I tried to find the leak, using some soap around the magnet and look for bubbles around the seal, but no bubbles, so it may be leaking thru the cone or rubber-surround. Or, could be a difference in the spider assy.Electrically they test good, but concerned the difference in dampening will result in dis-similar frequency response and perhaps, power handling. Testing is under way...perhaps they will loosen up.Going to PYLEAUDIO website and cant find this speaker-model in their line-up[?] waiting for reply from them.I would be real concerned if I were to buy a truck-load of these to go into manufacture.

from Great performance to price ratioi put two of these in a cabinet with a 4ohm 15" and they perform beautifully! This is the perfect mid for do-it-yourself live sound loudspeakers because of the closed back. just cut a hole in baffel board and load 'em up, no need to worry about a seperate mid chamber. good sensativity and power handling. they sounds just as good as higher dollar mids that i've used.
