Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible PerformanceI've been making some improvements to my system(s) lately (if interested, check out my review of part # 295-434). The system pictured here is a tri-amp(ed) system. The 15" bass driver bins actually reproduce 20 Hz rather effortlessly. No improvement needed there. The Altec-Lansing horns are great for midrange, but have always lacked high end. In the past, I've used a combination of piezo's, and the small SONY system (facing backward in the picture) tweeter the Pyle tweeter is sitting on. Finally one day I said, I know I can do better than that, and after doing my research, decided on trying out these Pyle tweeters. Well after temporarily placing them (right out of the box), and aiming them, I have fallen in love with them. They are perfect for *my* application. Beam spread is great. It's hard to be off axis with these. But detail? Holy cow, do these have detail. Keep in mind they are super efficient (112db 1W/1m), so either make sure you have an L Pad, or some other way to control them. You might be able to see the temporary test leads I used to connect them in the pictures. It was only going to be temporary, until I sat down in the chair and started playing music through the system, and didn't get up for the next 3 hours. I am completely blown away by these tweeters. Eventually I will get rid of the test leads, and hook them up correctly. I'm still not sure how I will mount the tweeters yet. At this point, that is the least of my concern, as just listening to cymbals, high hats and violins play through these things is mesmerizing. Simply an amazing tweeter. Nice job Pyle!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a good tweeter! It is a massive block of cast aluminum, and has a really phat magnet on the back. You get a lot for your money. If you like the sizzle of bullet tweeters ( which I do) then you will love these. This is essentially a bullet ring radiator tweeter with a rectangular horn versus conical horn so it has wider dispersion than the beamy conical versions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from great receptionsound is loud, but extremely metallic grating. It kept picking up music from a radio station or something.it would do this after a few hours in use and i found no remedy, except to chalk it up to junk and donate it to someone else. it could make a one station receiver of sorts! LOL

What frequency would you suggest to set as a crossover point? I'm thinking of combining these with some 10" midbass drivers if they can be crossed low enough.

Asked by: ad_ragan
These come with a 3.3 uF capacitor which suggest a first order crossover point of about 10kHz. If you go second order these would handle a crossover around 5kHz, I would not recommend going any lower than that.

Impedance: 4-8 ohms it says. Which is it?

As I build my own crossovers, I do not know which impedance I should go after when building it. Why does it say 4-8 ohm?Best regards Robin
Asked by: RobFlu
When a manufacture states this it means the driver is 4 ohms but will work with 4-8 ohm rated amplifiers.

What are the dispersion characteristics of this little horn?

Asked by: dave251
Unfortunately the manufacture does not provide dispersion patturns for this horn.
