from PD1000AJust set this up. Used it to watch movies. Have it hooked up to a sub and two cabinet speakers and sounds great. It's powerful and for the price amazing. Thanks pyle and parts express.

from Great bang for the buck & Karaoke PlayerAlthough not listed, this unit plays karaoke CD-G discs which was a pleasent surprise. Just add a mic and speakers and you are having a karaoke party. I am a DJ/KJ so I know home audio watts are not like pro type (QSC, Crown) amps, but the Pyle does sound decent for the price, just crank up the bass level. Watched a DVD "Inception" and the Dolby was outstanding. USB & MP-3 mode was good, I just wish I could shuffle the USB songs. Little things like no shuffle, can not open/eject DVD/CD unless in disc mode, too bright blue lights and hard to read remote buttons did not deter me from enjoying the meat and potatoes of this all in one unit. For $190 I am super pleased. I bought this unit for my garage, I need music everywhere I go. I have it hooked up to two 10in ST plastic molded speakers, very pleased. I am going to hook it up to my 12in MTX Thunder Pro II speakers next. Unit runs cool due to dual fans. The fans make a little noise, but not enough to really be noticed and mostly not at all when the music is kicking good which is most of the time at my house. I will even concider this unit as a back up amp/player for small DJ/Karaoke venues. Did I mention it plays CD-G discs, a big bonus.DJ Gunner

from Good Features Bad AudioYou would think with Pyle's reputation in the pro sound line they would be able to produce an equally good home audio system. The PD1000A has some good features. I like having the DVD/CD player on board with the receiver. It saves shelf space and is easier to operate. The USB/MP3 interface is fine and the dual speaker capability is worthwhile. But a lot of room on the front panel is taken up with controls for the two mic Karaoke channels. Hardly a feature an audio buff would want to pay for. Where the unit falls down is in the quality of the audio produced. There is a loud hiss in both channels, heard way above moderate level program material. The outputs could be used as a white noise generator. It is there no matter which input in used, indicating a poor signal to noise output stage. The audio could be described as thin, even with the bass and treble adjustments and the dynamic range seemed poor. The amplifier response specs, not shown in any of the on line descriptions,is rated at 40 to 15kHz in the manual. Hardly what one would call Hi Fi in today's world. Like other reviewers, I did not like the bright blue background LEDs. They make reading the panel graphics very difficult. The unit would be fine for general PA or DJ applications but not in the home. Pyle had a good start with combining the DVD/CD with the receiver, now they need to clean up the audio and dim the lights.

from Good performance for the priceFan cooled ok, but fan cycling is a bit disconcerting in a quiet surrounding. 33 blue overly bright backlit buttons & knobs need a dimmer.
