Pyle PCB4BK 4" 200 Watt Mini Cube Speaker Pair Black
Pyle PCB4BK 4" 200 Watt Mini Cube Speaker Pair Black is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Re-purposed as a micro-subI had some Tang Band W3-2088S0F 3.5" RBM Micro Subwoofers from PEx, and was looking for a "micro" cabinet to put these subs on my work desk. The plastic cabinets are an exact match to the bolt pattern on the W3-2088S0F, and the cabinet volume is almost and exact match for what the manufacturer recommends for this speaker. I was even able to use the original screws from the Pyle to mount the TB's.I lined the cabinets with Dynamat first to cut down the "ringing" and now have stereo micro-subs for my desktop "Sats".To disassemble the Pyles, pry the screens over the speakers, which is held on with glue. Then the 4 screws that hold the speaker and the cabinet together can come out. It was about 30 minutes to retro-fit both speakers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Perfectly Engineered - Lasted Exactly One Year!Decent speakers for the money.I used them for testing of amplifiers after they were repaired. Value is good as long as they work...When the first one failed (more like faded away) I thought that one channel on the amp died.Everything checked out OK on the amp. So I plugged in the speakers again and the dead speaker was still dead but now the other speaker started to fade.Since they are out of warranty I investigated the failure:They are really difficult to take apart IE not DIY friendly, meant to be thrown away rather than repaired. The drivers look decent, the shield around the magnet is nice, the silicone sealing is shoddy and looks like half dry silicone strings were placed where the sealing should be.Nasty scratching sound from voice-coil scraping and sticking. Tested at coil connector on speaker with no conductivity. BURNED OUT! The most powerful Amp tested with these speakers was one rated at only 75W/Ch @8 Ohm.Since these are rated at 200W @8 Ohm there is no reason why they should short out unless they were miss-manufactured.In gentle home use you should be able to get more than one year of life from these.I'll be looking for studio monitors next!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Arrived DamagedOne of the two speakers arrived with a loose large heavy part inside. Parts Express replaced the speakers and even paid the return postage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my applicationI'm using the speakers with my TV for rear fill. They work great with my 1980's Dolby matrix surround receiver and provide excellent ambience effects. They do the job and draw little, if any, attention to themselves... which is as it should be.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap and UsefullI purchased these Pyles as a (very) low cost alternative to the Auratone/Avantone single-speaker boxes found in many recording studios. They work quite well in their intended role, to provide a picture of the mid-range without the distractions of highs and lows. In the process, they're not at all bad sounding and surprisingly loud -- I often find myself choosing them for recreational listening (radio especially) in the studio. The one big negative on these little boxes is that they are fragile. The enclosure is a rather flimsy plastic -- the first pair I ordered came completely smashed and had to be returned. On second try, the only damage was dented grills. Rather than return them again, I bent them back into shape but ultimately decided I didn't need the grills anyway.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for surround speakerI am using these for my rear channel in a 5.1 setup. I demoed them in the front position first to see what they could do. They are a great mid range speaker, they cant hit too high and they dont have much base but the rest sounds great which is all you need in the rear. Cant beat the price. Heavier then I expected, guess that means they really can handle the watts. Posts would be nice but I wouldn't expect them in a speaker this size or price.

Pyle PCB4BK 4" 200 Watt Mini Cube Speaker Pair Black

what kind of bracket can I use to mount this on the wall?

Asked by: Froilan
These speakers do not require a bracket for mounting and there are no threaded inserts for them. They are designed to be hung with a hook style hanger.

can you mount these to a stand?

Asked by: hammer
"Mount" is probably the wrong word here. These appear to be plastic cabinets, so a simple stand made from a plywood base, a piece of pipe painted to suit, and a shelf for the speaker (see the Speaker Projects ) and heavy-duty Velcro should hold them in place unless you pull on the cable. As small and light as these are, 1/4" steel rod from a "big-box store" would support them. Just make a base, drill a under-sized (3/16"?) hole in it and hammer the rod into the base and the shelf, or use epoxy or urethane glue on it with a full size hole.
