PRV Audio 8MB450 8" Midbass Woofer 8 Ohm
PRV Audio 8MB450 8" Midbass Woofer 8 Ohm is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from PRV 8MB450 8" Midbass Woofer Excellent replacementI replaced the woofers in my Behringer B802D 8" powered speakers with this PRV 8MB450 I needed to do a screw hole modification in order for it to line up with the holes in the cabinets, but after I got it installed, all I can say is WOW!!!! these speaker's have KICK and there much more sensitive then the original Behringer speakers. They need very little volume to sound loud and clear, even at low volume there Awesome!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from just as goodthese woofers are half or less than half the cost of other woofers in the same class and they perform just as good, and i say this being a die hard selenium fan, they take the power u give them just fine. Just keep it crossed over a lil on the low side of 125-175 and they'll complete your current full range setup

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value, doubt its stated sensitivityI am using a pair of these in 12" 3-way DIY systems. They sound very smooth in their operating bandwidth which is 120Hz to 2KHz. I'm also using Dayton 2KHz passive crossover networks with a tweeters that have a published sensitivity of 89 dB. I am very skeptical about this speaker's stated sensitivity of 88.5 dB because the tweeter is at least 3 dB hotter than the PRV MB450. Can't beat the value though. You can hammer this pretty hard and it doesn't seem to mind. Overall B+

The RMS power for these is 225W if I wire them together in a 4OMH load what would the combined RMS rating be ? Using a active crossover from 150hz to 3500hz ?

Asked by: Boxman
The RMS power of any two identical drivers will double when wired in series or parallel, so in this case they will both handle 450 watts. The power handling will not change if high passed either, it will simply allow for more output capability since the drivers are drawing less current.

What is the SPL on these? How big of a box do they require?

Asked by: Voltor
According to the spec sheet online, the SPL is 88.5 dB average between 100 and 2,000 Hz. The recommended enclosure for this woofer is sealed at 0.8 cubic feet which provides an F3 of 80 Hz.
