Unique Parquet Subwoofer Table

This project was designed & constructed entirely by my 16-year old son in his free periods at school. From start to finish this project took Tom about 8 weeks to complete.

Enclosure Design

The parquet top is made from 3/4" thick maple & mahogany glued together and then attached to an underlying MDF sheet. The sides are 1/2" walnut. The end pieces were constructed by cutting and hollowing out a poplar log. The sub came from a Dayton Sub-80 8" HT that he recieved as a birthday gift. Approximate Dimensions: 12" wide, 16" height w/legs, 24" length.

About The Designer

Tom Nelson - 16 years old, full time student at The Hill School in Pottstown, PA. Last year Tom built a set of TriTrix MTM TL Speakers. This winter he was looking for a more challenging project so he designed and built this Parquet Table with down-firing subwoofer.
