Tang Band W8-740P 8" Subwoofer
I made a .4 cubic foot box slot ported to 40 HZ for a compact bass solution in an automotive invironment. It's currently in my bosses Astro work van and sounds terrific. Cant handle tons of power but in a box tunned that high in a car it doesn't need much.

Dayton QT210-4 8" Quatro Subwoofer 4 Ohm
Surpisingly good xmax for it's size though others may scoff. Most subs don't make use of the xmax and usually wind up with muddy output. Not this one. Similar to other micro subs, the rolloff is a little high, but that is what you want if clean bass is for you. In a small hatch or truck it performs very well in a very small box. I installed just one (ported)in a friend's S10 Blazer. Fed with about 120rms, we were both impressed with the output. Tight with good extension. Wasn't boomy at all. He loves jazz and old r&b (Teena Marie, Rick James, etc) and this sub kept right up. There is some deep bass to it so don't think it's all thump. I wouldn't be shamed to use this one again if the vehicle called for something of the like. Better for ported if you can fit one or two or three. Gotta love Dayton products for the value!

Tang Band W8-1363SB 8" Subwoofer
I have used and still own the 1363SA(original revision), and have been astounded as to how low this monster can play. Long xmax stroke allows so much in a small box, when used with 2 LONG-stroke Peerless PRs, but it really likes an over sized 4" diameter ported box, and can reach to 17.5Hz with 120W input, without exceeding xmax. That's impressive!!

Goldwood GW-408D 8" Poly DVC Woofer
It's good enough for my radio shack home made system that is under 100W. Since radio shack doesn't stock speakers any more.

Dayton RSS210HF-4 8" Reference HF Subwoofer 4 Ohm
After waiting for this sub for awhile I can say I'm decently pleased with it. Typical RS build quality and sound quality and will hold it's own well in a line of winners. However there isn't much that separates this 8" sub from the 10" RS subs. Both need almost the same amount of enclosure volume to realize their full potential. It's slightly lower price tag might sway some buyers either to use it or they might just spend a few more dollars for the 10". Still it's the best price I've found on a high performance 8" sub for a long time, high excursion monsters included. And for those who believe everything a specification sheet has to say, you're doing a huge disservice to yourself and this sub. And if you think that excursion is everything then you must be compensating for something.

Tang Band W8-1747 8" Aluminum Cone Subwoofer
The subwoofer looks loud but either in ported or sealed boxes its still not very loud. ALSO the cone is heavy so the bass is muddy.
