Bohlender Graebener Neo3-PDRW Planar Tweeter w/Back Cup
Properly implemented, this is one of the best tweeters out there. Needs some TLC on crossover design, and requires face plates or creative mounting to make it "right"

Bohlender Graebener Neo8 Planar Transducer
I am a fan of Magnepans and the original Carver Amazing Loudspeaker. The flat panel designs simply cannot be beaten for clarity of sound reproduction. Here is a way to get that sound at a very reasonable price. I have a pair of the little brothers of this unit, the Neo3's, also. But the Neo8's cross over two octaves lower! I put them in flat oval baffle mounted at ear level. A woofer sits in a box on the floor and supports the baffle via a pole. They are easily portable and can be carried anywhere. I use them in a recording studio monitoring situation with solo performers or small groups with acoustic instruments. They have replaced my beloved Spica TC-50 speakers. Performance is nothing short of astonishing! You will never again use a cone tweeter in a serious design after hearing these. Period. Mounting is a bit tricky, but well worth it. I've been building speaker systems for over 50 years.

Bohlender Graebener Neo8-PDR Planar Transducer
Tom and Dave from BG did a wonderful job with this driver. Clarity that most speakers can't even begin to play with with distortion levels below human hearing. Reaquires eq to bring the highs up to level but this is best as a midrange. If you can find a mid at this price that can play this life like then you would have a BG neo 8. I have these in my home for pc speakers and i also used them in my car. Best car speakers period all other should be measured to this level of performance to value ratio.
If you are looking to make planar line arrays with these they are excellent as well.

HiVi RT2H-A Planar Isodynamic Tweeter
I designed this unit into a 3-way, 42" tower system and found it to have outstanding high frequency detail and transient response. The horizontal, off-axis, dispersion is very wide and uniform while the vertical dispersion is confined to a fairly narrow beam-width so positioning this tweeter near ear level is important. The measured frequency response and impedance is indeed very flat as claimed in the product litterature making for a straight forward crossover network design. I used a 3kHz, 2nd-order crossover with a 3dB boost above 10kHz. This is an outstanding tweeter that I look forward to using in future designs.

Bohlender Graebener RD75 Planar Transducer
I purchased 2 B&G RD 75's from P.E. and built 8 foot tall MDF cabinets to house them. Each B&G stands next to and supplements a Dynaudio speaker (1" dome tweeter & 7" mid woofer) I built many years ago. The signal of each channel was equalized using pink noise resulting in a flat, combined response from the combination of Dyn. & B&G's, making up for any deficiencies of the RD 75's (they don't go low enough to reach my sub's 80 hz-the 7 woofer makes up the difference & they don't quite go high enough on the top-the dome tweeter solves that problem).
My combo allows the RD 75's to do what they do best:
Create a HUGE soundstage!
They add amazing clarity, size & power to music as well as home theater applications.
Just remember: they need a little help, especially on the bottom-linking their 300 hz bottom to a sub.
Fantastic build quality. Unique, gigantic sound.
Good Luck with your RD 75 project. You won't be sorry you purchased them.

HiVi RT2II Planar Isodynamic Tweeter Aluminum
I put these in Wayne J's "Veritas" project and couldn't be happier with the results. The speakers are amazing and look even better. The aluminum faceplate give the Veritas a very dramatic appearance and of course they sound amazing. I would highly reccomend these tweeters they are incredibly airy and fast without being harsh or tiring on the ears, they are very clean. Very satisfied, worth a few bucks more, nice build quality.

Bohlender Graebener RD40 Planar Transducer
I purchased two B&G RD 40's from Parts Express and built two 5-foot tall cabinets to house them. Each B&G is housed with three Dayton RSS265HO-4 10" Reference HO Subwoofers and one Aurum Cantus G2Si Ribbon Tweeter. For most listing levels I crossover the B&G s at 150Hz. For very loud levels, which are rare, I switch my electronic X-over to 400Hz. The Aurum Cantus ribbons are simply connected with a 2mf poly cap to help compensate my elderly hearing. I have been using B&G s 22 drivers (no longer made) in my front, center and surround speakers for nearly 12-years. The RD 40 s were purchase to upgrade my front speakers (stereo pair). I have been building speaker systems off and on for nearly 38-years and nothing can compare to these drivers. I can t imagine using any other driver for mid-range, yes their expensive but worth the price. For use in a stereo only system I prefer them best as a dipole setup but in a surround system I prefer them in a closed cabinet. Don t cripple them with a passive crossover bi-amping is a must and don t forget to use the required notch filter! I use an active notch filter in my front pair, center and rear I use the passive notch filter. Their build quality is top notch. Their sound is amazing with uncolored clarity and great imaging. You won't be disappointed.

HiVi RT1L Round Planar Tweeter
The sound is very clear and very nice to hear. It is working on 3 channel system whith Dayton XO3W-500/4K 375/3,000Hz passive crossover. The RT-1L has very good frequency response level and affordable price. I think the final system sounds great. I can hear things that I never heard before, besides I hear music at moderate volume levels.

HiVi RT2-Pro Planar Isodynamic Tweeter
I'm very happy with the HiVi RT2-Pro Isodynamic Tweeter - I rate it 5 stars including Features ( what features ? ). Unsatisfied with every compression-driver horn super tweeter I have ever tried ( none has usable output to 20 kHz ! ) I finally tried 'ribbons'. The RT2-Pro's 99 dB sensitivity made it easy - using DEQX processors - to mate with 108 dB horns ( x overed at 5 kHz ). And they sound good ! I was concerned that the 'character' of ribbons would not match the 'sound' of horns but no worries. Combined with JBL 375 + tractrix midrange horns the tweeters just sound like music - not horns, not ribbons, just music. One thing though; if wide lateral dispersion is important to you, look elsewhere - ribbons/isodynamic tweeters 'beam' like lasers - even more than horns. For me limited HF dispersion is a good thing. I am a 'sweet spot' listener and don't care about off-axis 'casual' listening. Also the specs are a little optimistic - actual usable output is limited to 20 kHz ( but who should care ? )

HiVi RT1II Planar Isodynamic Tweeter Aluminum
This tweeter has unparalleled off axis response if you use it without the faceplate. Used naked, it has a response difference of roughly 3dB at up to 75 degrees horizontal at 15kHz, when compared to the on axis response plot. However, it is ugly when used naked and distortion performance is bad when used under about 5.5kHz. It will mate at 5.5kHz with a 4th order electrical filter to the Dayton RS52 dome mid with perfection, even out to 75 degrees, if you use the right filters.

HiVi RT1.3 Planar Isodynamic Tweeter
I used this planar tweeter with the Dynavox LW5004PMR in a stand-mounted design (Vijon). This planar likes steep slopes, and I think about 2.8 kHz 4th order is its minimum FR point. I used an LR6 acoustic at 3 kHz for a very nice response.
As for sound, it's more analytical than the BG Neo3PDR, cleaner than the PT2/YAG-20, but not quite as sweet as an Aurum Cantus true-ribbon. Detail and air are present and finite, and it has a broad horizontal dispersion with a more-than-typical vertical dispersion. Top end is well extended. If you love acoustic guitar pieces, these are for you!
10W is plenty once L-pad compensated, but I used a 1A trip Polyswitch just in case.
