Dayton RS180S-8 7" Reference Shielded Woofer 8 Ohm
I bought 4 of these a few years back and have been playing around with them in various projects since. They have great specs, build quality and looks. Sound quality is quite good but you MUST be mindful of the severe and unforgiving breakup which requires a complex Xover and robust tweeter crossing very low.

Dayton RS180-4 7" Reference Woofer 4 Ohm
I have had 2 of these for a year and they sound as good as my big planars.

Goldwood GW-S650/8 6-1/2" Poly Cone Woofer 8 Ohm
Sound great! Great price.

Dayton DA175-8 7" Aluminum Cone Woofer
For the price, there's no equal. Alone or in groups, this woofer provides low distortion, wide bandwidth, flat response and just plain great sound when used within it's limits.
For use in bass applications, sealed or vented will work. It doesn't take much to drive them to their excursion limits, so use of multiple drivers is the way to go. As a "small speaker" with limited bass duties, they'll do fine one at a time.
Cross over no higher than 2KHz.

Goldwood GW-S650/4 6-1/2" Poly Cone Woofer 4 Ohm
SINCE I'M USING IT IN A CAR AND AS HOME AUDIO SPEAKERS THEY WORK DECENT BUT SENTITIVITY OF THE AVERAGE TWEETER SHOULD BE LOWERED
THEY LOOK NICE THOUGH SINCE I HAVE THEM NUDE AND VISBLE IN THE CAR DOOR
VERY GOOD VALUE

Usher 8945A 7" Carbon Fiber/Paper Woofer
A truly wonderful sounding speaker. I expect that as the speaker breaks in a little more the bass will open up but they are clear right off the bat. I was surprised that for $100 they wouldn't include mounting screws but a small problem at the least.

Usher 8945P 7" Carbon Fiber/Paper Woofer w/Phase Plug
THIS DRIVER IS A BIT EXPENSIVE BUT WELL WORTH THE COST, THE BASS IS TIGHT AND THE MIDRANGE IS VERY DYNAMIC BUT NOT HARSH, A .50 CU. FT. VENTED ENCLOSURE WORKS VERY WELL. X/O POINT AT 2,300 HZ

Vifa PL18WO-09-08 7" Cast Frame Midwoofer
I designed this woofer into a 3-way, 42", ported tower and found the overall frequency response to be exceptionally wide and smooth. On the low end, the 1.2cu ft cabinet was tuned to 45Hz and achieved an F3 of 40Hz. On the high end, I used an 800Hz, 2nd order crossover, even though the measured frequency response of this woofer is very flat up to 5kHz where it starts to fall rappidly. With its generous 6mm x-max, this woofer can pump out very clean, low distortion base at uncomforatably high volume levels. The mid-range response is smooth, crisp and very natural.

Aurum Cantus AC-180F1 7" Woofer
I built the speaker into a box with the VAS as specified in the specs.
It played exactly like described in the specs, even the frequency chart matched.
The sound is very open and detailed, exactly what I needed. The SPL is very high but this matches my ScanSpeak tweeter. This is not a speaker for sub base, but my Celestion Sub-woofer takes care of that.
Overall, one of the best I heard in 27 years experience with audio!

Usher 8948A 7" Carbon Fiber/Paper Woofer
THIS DRIVER HAS IT ALL! SUPERIOR MID-RANGE AND EXTREMELY POWERFUL BASS RESPONSE ALONG WITH VERY REAL NATURAL MUSIC REPRODUCTION. THE GOLD PLATED TERMINALS ARE ALSO TOP SHELF. I HAVE THE DRIVER CROSSED OVER A 2,300 HZ IN .50 CU. FT. PORTED ENCLOSURE AND THE SOUND COULDN'T BE BETTER!

Usher 8836A 7" Kevlar Woofer w/Truncated Frame
I used a set of these in a studio monitor. I was impressed by the mids and its fairly high SPL. Nice heavy magnet (not the be-all-end-all deciding factor on speaker selection).
The downside to this speaker is of course the price. Any raw driver costing over $100 is just a delusion of the OEM. However, this is driver was a joy to work with.
