Behringer A500 Reference Power Amp 2 x 230W
I bought two of these units for a balanced bi-amped system that I put together using the Behringer 2310 xover and a Classe pre-amp. Using the balanced inputs these amps are dead quiet and are incredibly powerful. The level controls and output meters are a nice touch as well. Hard to beat for the money.

QSC GX3 Power Amplifier
Most of you already know QSC.
This new amp is one of the best values in amps.
I got mine several months ago and have tested it under numerous loads and conditions. It bench tests at slightly better than stated specs. It sounds fine, even with my high-end studio monitors, but it really shines when you have to deliver high-power for live PA applications. It's 7 lbs lighter than other amps in this class, looks classy and has all pro connections. The low-pass, and pass-through features make it a very versatile device for multi-speaker systems.
Only one problem: One particular application I used this amp for was live reproduction of Jazz guitar. Because this particular gig had a very polite and quiet audience, I was able to hear the fan during quiet passages. Other than that, I have no complaints. This is one of the best values in audio equipment ever. If it lasts as long as my other QSC products, I should still be using it 30 years from now.

QSC RMX 850 Power Amplifier
Super low noise (<-100dB)THAT is pro spec!
Plenty of juice... transients transparent...
It's stable... even when a drunk roadie wires up one side at two ohms. The amp still works for us. The roadie doesn't.
Musical, sweet, clean, clear. Even-order harmonic balance is evident on loud or soft passages.
Low-end speaker protection works as advertised... It saves your expensive subs and woofers!
If you need an amp, buy this brand.
Install. Rock. Repeat as necessary.
Thank me later.

ART SLA1 Power Amplifier
This has to be one of the best (one space) amps you can buy.
|
|
ART SLA2 Power Amplifier
this amp is small, high power, and less then $300. perfect for large home and studio speakers, or mid-sized pro speakers. does get a little warm (as expected for compact size), and i find the gain controls a little loose. also i'm either blind or there is no ground lift button. great amp, huge power, sounds amazing.

Peavey PV 900 2 x 450W Power Amp
I'm new at pro audio electronics but not at amps and speakers. I purchased 2 pv tls 5x speakers with this amp. In the begining I thought I had a nice combo, but when I hooked up a 100x2 at 8ohm home receiver to the speakers I was not impressed. The home receiver did almost as good as the amp did. Also the binding posts do not work well with bare wire. The plus of this amp is the build quality seems good and the built in crossovers are a plus.

QSC RMX 2450 Power Amplifier
In my opinion it's all in the AMP. You can't rock a party with a "Canal Street Special" (cheap electronic equipment purchased in China Town NYC) Amp. "Try it, you'll like it".

QSC PLX3602 Power Amplifier
VERY POWERFUL AMP, VERY LIGHTWEIGHT, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS. THIS IS CHEAPER THAN YOUR CHIROPROCTOR.

Behringer EP4000 Europower Power Amp 2 x 1400W
Amplifier performs to specification; the only negitive feedback would be the horrendous fan noise.
Not suitable for the lab.

Crown XLS 602D Power Amplifier
This is a very nice amp. Its rugged and it sounds fantastic. only complaint I have is you can't run it mono in/parallel out without putting it in bridged. The XLS 402's are like this too. Other than that, very nice amp!

Crown XLS 802D Power Amplifier

Peavey PV 1500 2 x 750W Power Amp
I have pounded this amp HARD for 6 years and it's still as strong as the day I got it. PEAVY! what can I say.

|
Pyle Pro PTA1000 1000W Power Amplifier
The is the lightest amp I have ever seen for the given power output. It should be noted that the 1000W figure is peak power into bridged mono, and stereo RMS is much lower. It would be nice if P/E had detailed specs. For the price, the output quality and power is excellent. The ears are about 2mm too wide, so you can only rack it if your rack will bulge out a little. The worst thing is the erroneously formed mounting holes. Not just a little out of line, but at least 3/8". If the rack ears were stronger 2 screws would be OK, but as is the ears bend.

Pyramid Power Amplifier PA600DJ Rackmount
I am driving two Yamaha S-115MTs and a custom made speaker with this amp. I got it back when I had no money and has worked very well ever since. It is fan-free operation, so it was a bit of a pain in my rack having all that heat just rising up and not being shunted to the back like a real rack amp.
The pots got dirty really quickly, and personally the whole appearance of the amp is unprofessional/cheap looking. The electronics are sound though (no pun intended). It has good solid operation, but only at small room playback levels. I would not use this to drive mains for a performance; maybe only for the high end. For anything serious performance-wise, it will clip quickly, otherwise a great amp for chillin with.

QSC GX5 Power Amplifier
Great amp for the money. Sounds as goopd as any amp (PLX, XTI, etc) Using these in our monitor rig and all artists are very happy.

QSC PLX1104 Power Amplifier
My long-time buddy and fellow speaker-geek owns a Midwest pro-audio company. Whenever we play dates in his area, we use him for PA. He recently revamped two of his newer systems with QSC PLX amps. He couldn't stop bragging about them. His ranting started to get on (even) my nerves. After our first gig with the new PLX amps, I bought two for my own stage systems.
The actual weight is 13 lbs, not the shipping weight of 18 lbs. If you ever tote audio gear around, you already know that the greatest mass in racks comes from the amplifiers. Boy... is my back glad I bought these things!
The sound? in a word, ...Clear.
It is amazing how sweet highs can sound when they are not forced and there is plenty of headroom. Lows, even super-lows through subs, have an impact and accuracy that was missing with my other brand-name amps.
So-what if this isn't meant to run at 2 ohms! Professionals rarely run speakers at less than 4 ohms, so we're not giving up anything in the features category. Bass-crazy kids looking for artificially-inflated power-ratings into two ohms don't understand how bogus those power-lies are. Speakers behave better and are safer at 8 ohms anyway.
Here's another important point that other manufacturers often overlook: On this, and all QSC amps I've seen, they put the signal connections physically as far away from the AC power lines as possible. That is crucial for reducing EMI. It also makes it much easier to neatly wire up a hum-free system at home or in a pro-rack.
I am just amazed at the transient response and flat frequency response of this light-weight powerhouse. It has all the features a professional demands and none of the extra add-ons we don't need or ever use.
This amp really makes a difference in sound quality and portability.
I really do not know what they intended when they named this line "PLX." After using ours for a while, to us P-L-X means Professional, Lightweight, X-treme power and quality.
Highly recommended!

Pyle PT3300 3000 Watt Power Amplifier
I use this Amp for a DJ setup, and it rocks.
I am an electrical engineer and I can vouch that the specs on this amp are good. I tested it with a 10,000watt 2 ohm resistor and measured 2x400Watts with a signal generator.
The only problem was the combination of a crappy laptop with this semi-cheep amp, there was a ground loop problem, which was solved with a trip to Radio shack.
Overall, a GREAT amp for the price, power handling is misleading in specs, but tested out what I expected.

Peavey PV 2600 2 x 1300W Power Amp
I previously have bought the pv 900 and had good luck with it. Now I have added the pv 2600 and the peavey sp218 to my collection. The sp218 is rated at 1200rms and 2400 program. I have this amp running at a 4ohm bridge and it drives my 18's wonderfully. Only problem I've had is the logo on the front of both of the amps are cheap and where put on messily. That doesn't affect the sound though.

Crown XLS 402D Power Amplifier
This amp is very rugged, and it sounds fantastic! We use 2 XLS 402's and a XLS 602 for running monitors. Absolutely no complaints!

Crown XTi 1000 Power Amplifier
I hooked this amplifier to my DIY subwoofer and let me say this, wow. I definitely am getting clean power.
Many people were worried that the fan inside would be loud. Me too, but I took a chance. It's an automatic fan which only turns on when needed. I have had the sub playing at low volumes and the fan hasn't turned on yet. I'm waiting for my house to be empty to crank it up. But the bass I am getting from my 18" is so deep. That's why if I turn I up my family starts crying. My whole point being is that the only times you would hear the fan is if you had your music on low volume. But the fan doesn't run then.
The only thing that bothers me is the internal crossover only goes down to 80hz. Which isn't a tone for a subwoofer, but a midbass driver. But I am using the crossover in the receiver so it's all good :)
The amp has power LED's as you see in the pic. The sub gets abnoxiously loud with only the "signal" light driven.

Behringer EP2000 Europower Power Amp 2 x 750W
Zion Lutheran Church bought this amp to replace a 10 year old PA amp that failed during a Sunday service. Repairs were estimated to be $250.00 plus shipping costs. The Behringer was cheaper to buy and had twice the power of the old Crown amp.It fit directly into our cabinet and the connectors were the same. We had it in place and working within 20 minutes. A great amp at a great price.
