Dayton PMPC-10 10uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
Have Used Both Daytons Standard Metallized Polypropylene and And 1% Precision Metallized Polypropylene Capacitors! The Standard Is A good Cap, ., But The 1% Precision Cap. Offers A Noticable Difference In The Imaging and Overall Soundstage Of Your Speaker System. If Your Looking To Improve The Overall Quality Of Your Speaker System, The 1% Capacitors Will Definetly Help Accomplish That Goal. A Good Buy!

Dayton PMPC-4.0 4.0uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
I recently replaced the existing Solen capacitors in my speaker crossover network with the Dayton PMPC series 1 percent capacitors. In my opinion, their performance is as good as or better than the Solen. Imaging, depth, transient response, and clarity are dead on. Very stable sound field. I am very pleased with the value and performance of the PMPC series capacitors.

Dayton PMPC-8.2 8.2uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
I use these caps often to restore vintage speakers. They are reliable and durable - you can solder and de-solder them several times over and the leads remain strong. The sound of caps in general is an issue unto itself, but let it just suffice say that I much prefer these caps to the other inexpensive caps such as the Jantzens (too dull) and even the Solen metallized (too bright) capacitors.
Bottom line: Great cap for very little money.

Jantzen 8.2uF 400V Z-Standard Capacitor
I was using the new Dayton 1% cap in series with an Aurum Cantus ribbon tweeter in a two-way speaker with good electronics driving it. The speakers sounded very good but analytical. Switching to the Jantzen, with a bit of a break-in made them noticably more musical, more enjoyable. Looking forward to trying the much more expensive "Superior" level which is relatively economical to do with one cap in the circut path.

Jantzen 6.8uF 800V Z-Superior Capacitor
Very impressed, used on a DAC output to replace older Wonder Caps. Sound rich, warm, highly detailed

Jantzen 3.3uF 800V Z-Superior Capacitor
Good build quality, like the thick leads.

Dayton PMPC-5.1 5.1uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
Quality caps at a decent price.
Dayton PMPC-12 12uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
Works as advertised and fast shipping by PE.
Dayton PMPC-1.5 1.5uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
Having used these caps exclusively in a X-over, by-passed with Dayton Film & Foil caps, I can say they are definetly excellent sounding parts. Boutique caps might be a little better, but at 10 times the price (and 10 times the tolerance) they are not worth it. Speaker manufactuers that use electrolytics or cheaper plastic film caps are making a big mistake to save some money. Their speakers could be much better sounding if they used these parts.

Auricap 2.2uF 400V Capacitor
These capacitors are very neutral and sonically disappear. The improvement in clarity is very noticeable in replacing the surface mount channel input capacitors in a Sonic Impact T-Amp. Very happy with purchase. I have modified five T-Amps with these and my only wish was they were a little cheaper to purchase.

Auricap 3.3uF 400V Capacitor
Excellent parts and service A++++

Auricap 4.0uF 400V Capacitor
This capacitor is very detailed but smooth. Not in your face. It was a success with my last project so I decided to stay with a winer.Highly recommended.

Auricap 2.7uF 400V Capacitor
At first the Auricap sounded sharp and even distorded. But after 2 weeks of playing it starts to sound nice. I cannot tell yet if it sounds better than my Audyn-cap. This is a good product.
Auricap 10uF 400V Capacitor
These caps are good, but they have a decided midrange coloration. They actually warm up the sound, and add a very lush sound to horns which can be very seducing. It can also grow old over time. Many love it and never tire of it, but if accuracy is the goal, this is not the cap for you. I use them in modifications of Acurus RL-11's all the time with the understanding that they will be colored and lack bass, though the bass issue is in the preamps's design and has nothing to do with AuriCaps.

Dayton PMPC-0.22 0.22uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
These capacitors were just what I needed. They perform perfectly.
Dayton PMPC-0.47 0.47uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
These are made for precision audio applictions, I believe. However, initial tests indicated that they will work well to block the 50 or so volts DC coming in from the phone line, while allowing the bell AC to pass (requires .47 uF at 250 V).
Dayton PMPC-1.0 1.0uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
The build quality of these Dayton 1% caps is great and in one area better than any other capacitors I have seen. The leads are very thick, on a 1uf cap they must be about 16 gauge. I've seen so many large value film caps of large physical size with thin leads of less than 18 gauge, ridiculous. The caps body is very uniform and well constructed, unlike others I have seen at many times the price. They sound great to me, excellent job PE.

Dayton PMPC-5.6 5.6uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
If you want the performance of your speaker project to be the best it can be, heres your ticket. The perforamnce of your speakers is only as good as the components you put into it!
Nuff Said!!!!!

Dayton PMPC-3.0 3.0uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
Excellent value for money - transparent and VERY closely matched. I used a pair of these ganged up to make 6uF in series with a Morel MDT29 (obviously bypassed with a coil) as a high-pass and they're really very nice indeed. I assume the rest of the range is of similar quality, well worth spending a few bucks to upgrade all of your crossovers apart from the very highest-end ones. A difference you can actually hear...

Dayton PMPC-3.3 3.3uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
Everybody knows the Danes have the world's best caps, but they don't exactly give them away. I wanted to replace my cheap, generic, crossovers with good coils and polypropylene caps. After noting the low price of Dayton's standard polypropylene caps, I thought I could afford to splurge a little. But at $3.34/cap, Dayton's PMPCs don't feel like a luxury. I almost went with the Danes, anyway, but I'm glad I gave Dayton a chance. This is an exceptional product for the price. Auricap is five times more expensive; Audiocap is six. The PMPC is twice the price of Dayton's regular polypropylenes but we're talking about the difference between $1.69 and $3.34. Those who demand only the very best may still want the Audiocap. But at one-sixth the price, Dayton provides a top-quality product that brought real life out of my system. To repeat a time-worn phrase, why pay more?

Jantzen 1.5uF 800V Z-Silver Capacitor
Anybody who pays $26 dollars for this capacitor has to have their head examined. The blurb is also misleading. Caps don't have "current" ratings.
Jantzen 33uF 400V Z-Standard Capacitor
Wish the Standard caps had thicker leads like the Superior
Jantzen 4.7uF 400V Z-Standard Capacitor
Would like to see thicker leads like that are on the Superior caps.
Jantzen 4.7uF 800V Z-Superior Capacitor
Nice clear balanced sound, not harsh or dull.
Jantzen 0.22uF 1200V Z-Superior Capacitor
I had the Jentzens in my pre amp which improved it's clarity and resolution I knew this becuase this was the only signal capacitor in the unit. The tube amp it was feeding needed an upgrade in the signal cap area. I just installed this cap in the amp in the first hour the guitarist I knew back in the day went from on the CD to playing in my den. For the money, this is the cap you want! Excellent midrange and clarity. Sonics are very well defined. From first break in I'm already considering upgrading my midwoofer drivers. You want and need this cap. Much better value than caps at the same price.
Jantzen 1.0uF 400V Z-Standard Capacitor
I'm using this cap in a passive line level sub crossover. It sounds better than any active crossover I've owned and costs just a couple dollars to make. It's only a first order network and the cut-off is really low, probably not the best for you car guys, but is great for home use.
Jantzen 1.0uF 800V Z-Superior Capacitor
Installed this as coupling cap on my tube preamp, replacing Vishay MKT1822. The improvement was astonishing. Clarity, bass, density all improved a lot. These are really well built.
Jantzen 0.33uF 1200V Z-Superior Capacitor
Great value compared to other capacitors, for those results you will have to pay much more.
Jantzen 0.68uF 800V Z-Superior Capacitor
Very good value.
Jantzen 5.6uF 400V Z-Standard Capacitor
I am using this cap in a stage monitor. Good value and decent size in a 400V rating.
Jantzen 5.6uF 800V Z-Superior Capacitor
I used these along with some Jantzen Cross Caps in a crossover mod for my Magnepan MMG's. The speakers are sounding better than ever. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to choose these caps again. Expensive but good.
Jantzen 6.8uF 800V Z-Silver Capacitor
There isn't much to these caps as far as features go, as they are just capacitors. The VDC is really high, and suitable for a ton of applications. They are HUGE! They are PRICEY! They measure well within tolerance, and are down to the last decimal on matching measured values for my pair. I have not used them yet, and that's why I gave a "medium" for performance. They appear to be very well made, with no ditinguishable microphonics from a general "shaking" test. I hope to use them soon.
Jantzen 1.8uF 800V Z-Superior Capacitor
I used this cap in a tube amp power supply to set the correct voltage. It is the first cap after the rectifiers and before the first choke. The voltage rating and uf were perfect. The amp has no hum, buzz. The background is dead black!
Jantzen 10uF 400V Z-Standard Capacitor
It's hard to dispute that caps make a difference. But there's a point of diminishing returns, so when selecting a particular brand or group within a brand (in this case, the "Standard" series) you have to decide what you expect out of your project. In this case, I was replacing some very cheap Chinese sourced NP caps and terminal cups in what were otherwise excellent mid-line bookshelf speakers. In the past I've used Solens (hard and edgy), the lower priced Jantzens and Daytons. But for this project I wanted something a bit better, but affordable and I wasn't disappointed. The top end opened up with more clarity and less hash. I measured both caps before installation and they were within 0.5uF of their 10uF marked value, as opposed to the cheap caps they were replacing which were off by as much as 3uF (signifigant in a crossover design)!
To summarize, I don't think you'll go wrong with these OR the Dayton film caps.

Jantzen 10uF 800V Z-Silver Capacitor
I have used these caps before and they are quite good. High quality and well made. But if you have any space limitation concerns DO Not use their current dimensions. For example the current listing shows dimensions of the 10uF cap at 36mm x 106mm. The correct size is 45mm X 70mm. I told customer service about this 10 days ago, today is 06/24/09 and they still have the wrong sizes. Visit the Jantzen site before you buy any of their caps to verify size. Here is the link to the Jantzen website: http://www.jantzen-audio.com/html/caps.html
There is no excuse for treating a great product this way at the customer's expense.

Jantzen 10uF 800V Z-Superior Capacitor
I purchased these to rebuild the crossovers in my Polk RTA15TL speakers. I already rebuilt them once with Solen caps and thought that it was a nice improvement. Now its time to go all the way =)
First, note the the ones currently shipping are red, not black as pictured. The red looks awesome on the thick metal outer shell, though. The thick leads provide easy soldering/crimping and supreme durability. Overall, the capacitor is reassuringly heavy and utterly enormous, suggesting excellent resistance to microphonics.
Converted to inches, this cap is a whopping 4 1/8 inches long and 1 3/8 inches in diameter. Give serious consideration to space when designing your crossovers. Afterall, you need to make room for some Jantzen foil inductors too!
The Humblehomemadehifi website has a must-read capacitor shootout in which the author declares these to be one of his new go-to capacitors. It is easy to see why!

Jantzen 15uF 400V Z-Standard Capacitor
I have really been happy with the performance of these Jantzen caps. They have a nice clear and slightly warmer sound to them (to me). I have directly compared these to the Dayton Precision Caps (which I find just a bit hollow) and like them much better at a little more cost. I think these are definitely one of the nicer mid to higher grade caps out there. Can't wait to try the superior or silver Jantzens.

Jantzen 15uF 800V Z-Superior Capacitor
I replaced a really cheap cap that was in my magnepan mmg's with the Jantzen and, as expected, it improved the the highes and mids to a large degree. Very smooth sound with a nice "musical" quality. Great sound and a great price. It also sounded good right out of the box.
Jantzen 2.2uF 400V Z-Standard Capacitor
I used these caps as well as the Jantzen 15uF Crosscap and 4.7uF 400V Z-standard capacitors in a re-cap of a pair of Sansui SP-3500 speakers. Certainly the highs from the two horn tweeters and the bass from the 14" woofers are better, but the biggest improvement was in the midrange (the SP-3500s have a horn midrange and two cone midranges in each speaker). The stereo imaging also seems much more realistic than it did before. These caps (and the others) are a great way to breathe new life in to vintage speakers!
Jantzen 2.2uF 800V Z-Silver Capacitor
I purchased this capacitor as a upgrade replacement for the another high end capacitor used in my preamp. Though it will take some time to break in the the result was immediate and intimate. Excellent clarity and neutrality. The reeds are sharp and focused. String intruments especially the fretboards are heard very well and clearly I very satified.

Jantzen 2.2uF 800V Z-Superior Capacitor
I've gone through Mundorf's and Audine's before I found the Jantzen. The Jantzen crush the other two and for less money! Solid copper wire in clear teflon is critical to the performance as the sound is more natural and yet has greater bandwidth. The Mundorf had great bass and tonality but it was darker and closed-in on top. The Audine was more open on top but had a hot-stop in the lower treble upper midrange. And the Jantzen just performed flawlessly right when I put them in.
Super highly recommended, infact I contected the manufacturer of my component and recommended her audition them himself.

Dayton PMPC-4.7 4.7uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
thanks again1

Dayton PMPC-40 40uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
Awesome value for the price. Measured values were dead on. For the price, why use anything else?
Dayton PMPC-6.8 6.8uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
The best cap that I have ever used for price and performance. My vintage KLH speaker system sounds detailed and overall better than when originally purchased 30 years ago.I am extremely impressed with the outstanding performance of these capacitors. You cannot go wrong with Dayton 1% capacitors.

Jantzen 0.10uF 1200V Z-Superior Capacitor
These rated highly in Tony Gee's capacitor report, so I thought I'd try them in my vintage 6v6 tube amp. The amp powers a pair of BBC LS3/5a's, which are well regarded for their precise imaging properties. Over the Auricaps which they replaced, the Jantzen Superiors are very smooth and big sounding, and there is a bit of palpability to the sound--the notes hit you on the face. The downside is that there seems to be a tiny bit of a hazy overlay. The Janztens seem better for piano and jazz vocals than for symphonies, which lacked focus in their account. The drier sounding Auricaps threw out a smaller, but broader soundstage and placed every instrument perfectly, and every instrument came--sometimes startling so--out of a black space. The difference between the two was like that of a 35mm lens (Auricaps) versus a 50mm 1.4 (Jantzens). They're both, even-steven, excellent caps.

Jantzen 0.15uF 1200V Z-Superior Capacitor
I put these in a pair of vintage Pioneer HPM-100 crossovers and WOW is all I can say! The harshness I heard before from the HPM super tweeter is gone. Much more liquid than before and a decent value for the price! The finish comes off easily so be careful when installing 'em. If you've got a set of HPM-100's these are what another AudioKarma member recommended and he was right! These are great!

Dayton PMPC-15 15uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
Capacitors with precision tolerences are never cheap. After using the majority of esoteric capacitors on the market over many years, the sound quality of the Dayton Precision Caps was very surprising. Plus I saved money!
Give them a try on your next project. You will not be disapointed.

Dayton PMPC-25 25uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
Great value polypropylene caps. I used them in a crossover. A vast improvement on the electrolytics they replaced.
Dayton PMPC-0.10 0.10uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
I used these caps in a High end audiophile pre-amp. I placed 2 in the phono circuit RIAA, and 2 in the subsonic filter system on the pre (20hz high pass, at 18db). They work great. All Dayton 1% capacitors I have written reviews on, have replaced metalized mylar for coupling, and plain mylar film for filtering. I hope to use these capacitors in my JBL L-300 x-over networks...
Thanks, Tom

Auricap 0.10uF 400V Capacitor
I have modified the stock Caps on my Magnepan MMG, I replaced two of the Caps, one a Dayton Film and the other a Solen. I also replaced the stock coil with Jantzen Copper Foil as part of the upgrade along with better wiring.
The only way I can explain it is a more organic, well rounded sound, a lot of the "edge" we normally associate with Solid State electronics along with the CD format has been smoothed over. There also is a deepening of the soundstage and more defined stereo image.
I still have so many hours to break these in but very favorable results so far...
Auricap 0.22uF 400V Capacitor
I've tried all of the so called "exotic" capacitors. If you are looking for real, rich, live and uncolored music presentation, the Auricap is your best choice.
Auricap 1.0uF 400V Capacitor
I replaced Solens in the output of a tube preamp with the Auricaps. It's amazing how much of the music gets held back in the solen capacitors. I listen with STAX earspeakers and the detailed presentation of the Auricaps is just amazing. Very worthwhile upgrade for the price.
Auricap 1.5uF 400V Capacitor
These Auricaps are great. They offer good quality sound for many applications. They are more expensive than some, but they offer a very smooth sound compared to cheaper caps. Note that they can be quite large, make sure you have room in your gear for them! I've used them for everything from coupling and bypassing to tweeter crossovers. Good results with all situations. Give them a try!
