Optical Cable with Toslink Connectors 35 ft.
Don't let the low price fool you. . . this cable is super. You can pay two times the price at other web sites for the same fibre optic cable.
I own a sound studio and install Home Theatre- been a Parts Express customer for a long time.
Great selection, quality parts and great prices.

Very high quality not a cheap imitation

Optical Cable with Toslink Connectors 12 ft.
Nice heavyweight cable, sturdy anodized ends and convenient anti-kink wrap. Works just as well as cables 5 times the price at "big box" stores.

Optical Cable with Toslink Connectors 50 ft.
This optical cable seems well made. It's wrapped in a grey plastic weave 5/16th of an inch diameter - much thicker than a typical optical interconnect cable of about 3/16th inch. I assume this helps avoid kinking the line.
I'm feeding a digital optical signal from a computer in my home office to a home theatre processor in the next room and this does the job just fine. $19 seems like a good price for the 50' run.

Opti-Glow Optical Cable 3 ft.
I debated on purchasing this cable vs. some of the other more brand name cables with fancy insulation and pretty fittings. My roommate has the Monster brand and I'll admit, there may be a difference in sound quality but you'd need a computer sound analyzer to prove it. So if the difference is not detectable by human ears, why spend 10X as much for one that just looks fancy? That is my point, I can't tell a difference as they both sound fantastic, so why not save 20 bucks and buy another blu-ray.

Optical Cable with Toslink Connectors 100 ft.
I was concerned that this cable might be too long to send the signal properly and that it might not survive getting pulled through my attic. It worked great on both counts! Now I can listen to the same thing with digital quality in two rooms at opposite corners of my house. Awesome!

SonicWave Glass TosLink Cable 0.5m
Excelent contruction with high quality glass fiber for low poer loss. Precesion connector and optical interface. Highly recommended!!!
|
|
Optical Cable with Toslink Connectors 75 ft.
This is a high-quality cable. I bought 4 of them, and 2 of them work. This MAY be because I have too many bends in the route they're run through, and it may just be the limitations of multipath multimode non-coherent fiber optic transmission. In any case, I'm left looking for a new way to transmit large amounts of audio over a long distance.

RCA HD3HPL Optical Cable 3 ft.
Can't beat the price, looks good and works great.
|
|
RCA HD6HPL Optical Cable 6 ft.
A nice optical cable with a big coolness factor--it has "halo" lights on the ends so you can see when the cable is active, and the outer jacket is clear. And, let's face it, fiber optics, being digital, work or don't. Why pay $50 for an audiophile name brand?

SonicWave Glass TosLink Cable 5m
This is an excellent product, and a steal at its price for having high purity optical-grade glass fiber as its core!
The exterior construction is impeccable. The manufacturer, Impact Acoustics by Cables To Go, makes these cable here in the USA, and their stated goals are to make no-compromise products. I did not rate the performance of this cable because I have not yet finished setting up my system where this cable will be used, but I suspect that, with high-purity optical-grade glass fibers, this cable will perform very well
indeed.
While the manufacturer boasts a 70mm turn radius, you must be careful not to bend glass cables too much. Glass will fracture if the bends are too tight and cause a deterioration of the signal, making their performance worse than plastic, so keep the turn radius generous. As long as the glass isn't fractured, other things being equal (such as polished fiber ends and high quality termination)glass cables will easily outperform plastic over time.
I have one small quibble with the cable, which is reflected in my rating. I would like to have seen this cable come with a net sleeve around its soft, flexible exterior; that softness causes the cable to resist being fished. The net sleeve would give the cable a slippery exterior, making it easier to fish through cable-management channels in A/V stands and towers, as well as providing an extra layer of protection to the cable. A close-fitting sleeve would also resist a tight bend, always a good idea with real glass optical cables.
That is the reason for my slightly lower rating for the cable's features.
I appreciate knowing the name of the manufacturer of this product. I did look up the company on the internet and read about them, and I was impressed. I feel confident to buy their products again.

Dayton GOC-1.5 Glass Optical Digital Cable 1.5 ft.
Another high value, high performance product from P.E. Glass fiber cables are rare as Toslink cables go and are usually pricey. Unique connector on this cable is non-keyed which makes insertion easy. The unusual extra long tip with lense on this connector may provide a better transfer of digital data.

Dayton GOC-6 Glass Optical Digital Cable 6 ft.
I purchased the Dayton GOC-6 Glass Toslink cable in response to the thread titled "glass toslink" appearing in the Agoraquest "Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connectors/Cables" forum. When comparing the cable that I purchased from Stewart (a popular E-bay source) with the GOC-6, the question that comes to mind is, "Where's the beef?". It clearly is a much more rugged package. The unique circular connectors with the longer than normal tips may be inserted with no regard to circular position and they fit like a glove. The performance rating listed is assumed, because I have no practical way of comparing the sound quality when using different Toslink cables. I'm simply assuming that its the best.
