Neutrik NL4MPR Speakon 4 Pole Round Chassis Mount
SWR executed their combo with the crossover in the amp head so they used a 1/4 inch stereo jack and plug to get the separate highs and low into the cab as that was what was around. I guess an XLR was nixed as it might have confused people though panel jacks and right angle plugs were out there then. After having the stereo jack and plug come apart multiple times at the worst possible moment I used one of these to do the 3 lines along with a 4 pole right angle Speakon jack. Now it has infinitely better conducton path, is pretty much indestructible, and would be lightyears easier to fix if I had to. What's not to like?

Hands down the best connector for any speaker. 4 pole is also a highlight if you are running 4 conductor wire in which 1 pair is lows and the other pair is highs. Really cuts down on stage clutter. If a speaker doesn't have a speakon connector it really needs to be retrofitted with one. Always a positive connection and the positive locking is great. The injection molding plastic used is VERY sturdy and i have yet had one break with serious abuse. Soldering recommended for a more positive wire connection but can use spade connectors too.
