Eminence Legend CB158 15" Bass Guitar Speaker 300W 8 Ohm

With a cast aluminum frame, 2-1/2" voice coil, and 300 watts of power handling; this speaker is the best choice for the serious bass player! Many bassists have historically chosen 10" speakers in their rigs for their distinctive tonal characteristics, but more often because they allow a much lighter and smaller cabinet. There is, however, no substitute for a larger format woofer when you are trying to produce bass! The CB15 provides the best of both worlds by punching out low-end that only a 15" woofer can provide, but doing so in a smaller enclosure. Made in the USA. 7-year manufacturer's warranty!

Specifications: • Power handling: 300 watts RMS • VCdia: 2.5" • Impedance: 8 ohms • Frequency range: 47-3,000 Hz • Sensitivity: 98 dB 1W/1m • Fs: 34 Hz • Magnet weight: 80 oz. • Dimensions: Overall diameter: 15.21", Cutout diameter: 14", Depth: 6.5".

No other speaker is used more widely as standard equipment in guitar and bass guitar amplifiers than Eminence! Most guitar speaker manufacturers are well known for a specific type of tone. Indeed Eminence is recognized for establishing the "American" rock, country, and blues tones. What really sets Eminence apart though is the ability to provide the guitarist with virtually any tone they desire! Rock, Metal, Country, Blues, British, Rap, Soul, and Alternative styles can be provided with one of the Legend models available. If you're not packing a Legend, you're probably not playing like one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great improvement.....Purchased to replace blown speaker in my Hartke Kickback bass amp I used for practice. Now it's my go to amp for not only practice, but small to medium sized gigs using a Sansamp pedal. Great improvement over the original at an awesome price. Fast turn around sale too. Thanks PEX. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement for G-K BacklineApparently the G-K Backline series is notorious for poor speakers. I have read a lot reviews and posts in which folks complain about their lack of durability. I bought this Eminence Legend as a replacement for the blown G-K factory speaker. The Eminence sounds GREAT! Solid lows and crisp highs. Overall, I am very pleased with this speaker. It has a binding post/knurled nut terminal, which would not be my first choice, as I worry that it may vibrate loose over time. But overall the speaker appears to be well-constructed and robust.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One is almost loud enough. My old 1972 Traynor Bass Master Mark II head came with a cab fitted with twin 15" speakers. I play out at small to medium clubs, and the speakers were breaking up a bit when pushed. Instead of tearing into an antique, I built a new cabinet and installed the Eminence Legend CB158 15" in it. It sounds great, but I should have ordered two. The single 15" speaker is just not enough to poke through without breaking up on the low end. We perform without the drums being pumped through a PA, so they set the mark for how loud the rest of us need to be. I love the speaker. I'll order another when I get the new cabinet built!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Speaker! This speaker will not disapoint. Outstanding quality. This thing just looks impressive. The quality I have come to expect, the glue seams aer all clean, no excess slop smeared everywhere. The binding posts are of high quality. I wish all speakers had binding posts like this. I bought this as a replacement for an SWR Triad cabinet. I also bought the Eminence Delta 10-A to use in this cab. Great combination. The old PAS drivers were rated at 200w each, so I gained some power handling capabilities as long as the crossover can take it. My bass rig is noticibly louder with thease speakers and there is also increased clarity. I bought this speaker based on the 4.8 xmas, the 300w power handling, the 80oz magnet, and the 98db sensitivity and I am not disapointed. This thing really moves some air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good ReplacementI used this to replace a bad speaker in an old Sunn cabinet, which had 2 - 15" speakers. I guessed this model would work but was surprised to find it identical to the original. Looks like Eminence made them for Sunn 20 years ago. When installed I could tell no difference in the old and new speaker. Good service too, received in 3 days....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for the moneyReplaced my 49 year old JBL D140 that was twice re-coned with this. Yeah, I know, no comparison. The JBL was great for small clubs but I need something with more bottom end and power. I have a 1 12-inch cabinet along with this 1 15-inch powered by a Hartke 3500 amp. My basses run through a Line-6 Bass Pod Live into the return section of the Hartke. Now I have to turn down (which makes me smile). Highly recommended.

Ampeg B-15N replacement

Hi, is this the replacement speaker for the Ampeg B-15N? If not, which one would be?Thanks,~alan
Asked by: commet
This would not be a "stock" or OEM replacement for that amp, but would probably be a good choice if you're not looking to maintain the vintage re-sale value. The original speakers were Jensen, with a particular JBL having been available as an optional upgrade. Unfortunately, we carry neither of those speakers.

Asked by: Blane
Yes, these are actually fairly popular in audiophile circles for virtue of their high sensitivity. =)
