Pro Co Guitar & Instrument Cable 90% Shield 1 ft. USA is rated 4.3333 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from good quality, great priceI bought 100'with some very nice nuetrik connectors for my guitar cables, I have had a very positive experience with it, very quiet, soldered well, very durable....I have been gigging with these cables and have held up longer than any others I have purchased assembled. ...I dont use crimp on connectors wth this cable as it is shielded that's counterproductive. ....if you use the appropriate connectors and have experience soldering you will be very happy with this cable. ...you can't beat it

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Meh. Not what I expected.I picked this up to make some RCA interconnects after having done the same with similar-make Mogami instrument wire. The shielding wire, in this case used for the ground, is *really* thin, and came bunched up within the plastic/rubber outer coat. The Mogami shielding is sturdy gauge wire in a perfect packed spiral around the inner core. This ProCo stuff in comparison had lots of gaps where the shielding had bunched together; I don't know how they can call it 90% shield this way. Part of it, I am sure, is the thin-guage wire ProCo uses is difficult to lay flat with regularity. Also, the wire just doesn't tin nearly as easily as the Mogami; I felt I had to fight with it to make good quality solder joints. So, all 20 feet I bought is in the recycling bin. It might be fine for low-quality beginner projects, but even my mid-level hobby stuff requires something better than this. Also, if you haven't tried anything else, this might be just fine for you. But it's such a remove from what I am used to, and for the same price I can buy something much nicer. I love Parts Express, everything else I've bought from them is great quality, this single product happened to be a disappointment to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable quiet cableI've used ProCo instrument cable for decades, not too expensive, quiet, durable, beefy conductor/shielding, not really any negative capacitance issues, of course you want to use G&H ends for best results,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent cableThis cable has great shielding while remaining flexible. It has greatly reduced the effects of RFI in my recording space. As somebody else noted, there is risk of signal loss if clamped too tightly to the connector. It also has to be pointed out that this cable has an outside diameter of .405" and most audio connectors are made for .250" cable, so some care must be taken in assembly. I would recommend three inches of heat-shrink tubing over the cable and the connector outer shell. I plan to order more and perhaps use speaker cable connectors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CableThis cable is very good quality. However, I found that I would mess up the cable by trying to pull it through my ends. This is not fault of the cable or the ends. The problem is that one is too big or the other is too small. I found that a little Vaseline on the cable will solve this problem. The sound coming though this cable is as good as any other cable you can buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Audio Response but only fair insulator materialNice thick cable... good conductors... I just wish that the center insulator was more thick/durable or used a better material... the cable cannot withstand a very good crimping on the insulator for stress relief... I kept getting a slight resistive (ohmic) value when crimped which caused a slight grounding of the signal from the instrument... just don't over crimp the cable.

Pro Co Guitar & Instrument Cable 90% Shield 1 ft. USA

I just bought 30' of this cable and some Neutrik RA plugs. Then I thought about a stripper to use. Is there a dedicated stripper for this cable at PE?

Asked by: mikeb23
We do not have a dedicated stripper for this cable, although you could use a standard coax stripper and adjust the blade depths.http://www.parts-express.com/rotary-cable-stripper-ht332--360-016
