Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice for small speakersUse it with banana plug. Straight wire would be difficult to tighten. Very nice, look expensive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replaced Those Spring ClipsI bought these as a direct replacement for the spring-loaded speaker clips on the Dayton Audio B652 6-1/2" 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker Pair. The old spring-loads wouldn't take large guage wire, and when I would push on the clips, I'd usually push the speaker cabinets also. The old spring loads came out with a little prying from a flat blade. I replaced the thin wire inside the speakers with 16 guage, crimped terminals to the speaker leads, connected the terminals to the inside of the binding posts and pushed the new posts into the existing cut-out. It was an exact friction fit, no cutting or glueing required. It's a tight space to get your fingers in to tighten the posts, but I use banana clips anyway. With the new posts, hook up is easier, and larger guage wire lets the sweet sounds flow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice and easy to use.Nice looks and easy to install. The product details should be corrected as it says it includes a gasket and it does not. It's not needed anyway as it's meant to be glued in place.

Pressfit Speaker Terminal Cup 2-1/4" Gold Banana Binding Post

Can the posts be easily removed from the housing?

I'd like to paint these white and install them in the ceiling of my house for surround speakers. Are the posts just screwed into the housing or are the posts MADE into the housing?
Asked by: Maxwelhse
I have a square version of this which I'm sure is very similar. On the back there is a threaded bolt stud that has a solder bracket and hex nuts. The nuts on mine have thread lock on them, I havn't tried removing them but it should come apart with a little force. Just so you know, the version I have has a ring of foam around the backside edges.
