This compact sized regulated power supply is ideal for all devices drawing up to 2 amps of current. It is fully regulated ensuring constant, accurate DC power to any type of electronic device. The rotary selector can switch between six popular voltages (3-4.5-6-7.5-9-12V DC). The color coded binding posts make connections easy. This unit works well with the detachable plug kit 120_537 by supplying an easy termination for the popular DC plugs on the market today.

Specifications: Dimensions: 2.5" H x 4" W x 5.25" D.

Power Supply Regulated 3-12 VDC 2A 6-Way
Power Supply Regulated 3-12 VDC 2A 6-Way is rated 4.4062 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far it's doing its jobI bought this as a bench supply so I could test and modify effects pedals without having to mess with wall warts. I've had it only a couple of hours, but I've tested it with a Tech21 Sansamp BDDI and an Eden WDTI. No problems whatsoever. Both units run completely hum-free even with the units set at high gain. However, neither the BDDI nor the WTDI draws more than 100 mA, so these results are preliminary. If subsequent use on units that draw more current produces hum, I'll come back and report it.Voltages are spot on.There is a generic (i.e. not blindingly bright) red LED on the unit to show when it's on.The companion connector/cable kit (120-537) works fine. As others have already said, the socket the plugs attach to is crazy tight, so you will have to open up the mating connectors with a scribe or something similarly needle-like. Even then the connectors don't fully seat, but that's okay, because when you've got them mated, even partially, the connection is very solid and tight. The power supply's output posts DO unscrew to accept spade lugs, and the ones on the 120-537 kit match up perfectly. Therefore you will not need banana plugs to make the kit work. The two-wire AC cord seems to be heavy duty and able to withstand some scuffing.Fuse is a 5mm x 20mm 1A at 250V.Nice unit. Based on my experience so far, i.e. low-current use, I'd replace it if it broke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHERNeeded to power an out of production Audio Alchemy DTI .This dayton power supply exceeded the original wallwart psu specs by a mile.THE quality of the unit appears substantial ,and for its current application it runs cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Right Product at a Good PriceThis is a perfect medium-duty, basic power supply (PS) with a fair price. My need was for a low-cost PS to power a small 12-volt pump motor. This product was perfect and delivery was prompt!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Partial Failure After Two yearsThis worked well for me initially, and was sometimes in near constant use for months at a time. But after about two years the voltage selector started to not work at all at lower settings and only sporadically at 12 V. I disassembled the unit and found that one of the plastic pins that hold the circuit board in place had failed. This relieved the spring tension necessary for the selector switch to maintain contact, which is why it stopped working. I was able to repair the broken pin with hot glue and it is working again. But I also noticed considerable pitting under the selector switch contacts, possibly due to operating under insufficient tension, so I'm not longer confident in this for reliable unattended use.

Power Supply Regulated 3-12 VDC 2A 6-Way

I presume this can be used to power 5V devices?  Is the 4.5V position used for this?  Are the selector positions detented, or is this a sweep type control knob?

Asked by: msg64
The selector positions are detented, so only 1.5v increments are possible. This may power a 5v device depending on the input voltage range of the device being used.

I was thinking of installing a car stereo with a 60 watt amp in my garage. Will this unit power it up?

Asked by: jun g
Not really. Most car head units are going to want a power supply closer to 10amps, instead of 2. Some allow you to turn off the internal amp of the head unit, which would probably work.
