Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fresh dated battery, meets expected discharge specI was very pleased that all the four batteries I bought in mid-February were manufactured in January 2014. They all worked fine in my various battery backups. I tested three of them to see how long they ran. With a 200W light bulb loading the UPS, the batteries ran about 10 1/2 minutes before dropping below 10V. This is what would be expected from a 7 AH lead-acid battery running under very heavy load (almost 3x AH rating). At the price, a very good value!

How do I recharge the lead-acid battery?

Asked by: andre3000
The float charger below would be a good option for this.

This battery seems to be identical to that used in my Verizon box in the battery compartment. However it now contains an Enercell 12V 7A with dimensions approximately 1/16" smaller in width and height.  The current battery is marked - 23-943.  Compatible?

Asked by: PHJIM
Yes these are compatible with each other.

Using a car cigarette lighter adapter?

So I have a question that I feel is best suited for people who know much about electricity and circuits. I have a 12V 7Ah sealed lead-acid battery (here, FYI also have a small stereo amplifier, 12VDC 2A, that is 15W/channel (2 channels, found here:, I have a simple 12V USB adapter, the kind for a car's cigarette lighter (here: know that this circuit board works well with this battery, but I'd like to charge my phone at the same time as I listen to music! Is it possible (and safe), to wire the battery to the stereo amplifier and to the 12V adapter in parallel to power both devices? Are there any problems I should consider? Thanks for your comments!
Asked by: Jake9115
you will want to wire both items in parallel and yes it is safe and just remember you will be pulling more power and you will need to be consious of how much power you are using not to damamge the battery in the long run
