The VSX-523-K is the very best example of an entry-level home theater receiver. Features are limited to the bare essentials and a few select creature comforts, with the engineering emphasis on high performance and a great user experience. For customers on a budget, or just uninterested in a lot of bells and whistles, the VSX-523-K is the gateway to Pioneer quality.
Video Connections for Every Device
The Pioneer VSX-523-K features four HDMI inputs, including one input located on the front panel that is MHL-capable for mobile devices. 3D is supported, along with Deep Color (36-bit), x.v. Color and Ultra HD (4K) pass-through. Legacy devices are supported by two composite video inputs.
Audio at the Forefront
Rated at 80 watt per channel according to the rigorous FTC specifications, the VSX-523-K has more than enough power to rock a home theater. Power isn't the whole story, though: MCACC calibration lets users tailor speaker response to a particular room with the included measurement microphone. MP3/WAV/ACC files on mass storage devices can be played via the front panel USB port.
