from Amazing car speakerI bought these a while ago for my smart car. I used to compete professionally, at my ripe old age of 28 I now look for things that operate efficiently without being excessive (cost, looks, hype). In this car you can really only run one set of speakers without some sort of custom fabrication. I have these speakers in my doors with a foam baffle behind. I have just the speakers with a two ch amp going to them and I have reverted to the factory deck with a high low converter and audioquest patch cables. These speakers definitely play the lows. Now of course you have issues with road noise and wind noise. When i get a hankering to play hip hop and want some treble they do not play really brights, but everything is superior in reference to being balanced. I have about 100 watts going to each side. I get a lot of compliments when I pull into work, asking what i have. I and I tell them i just have a set of 6 1/2"s. Extremely loud and clear. Clear is the main point. The speakers tweeter system is very impressive, it disperses the sound in a way that is very pleasing to the ear. I would almost be brave enough to make a set of cabinets for these for some home audio application.

from Pioneer TS-D1602R 6-1/2" Coaxial Speaker Pair 260W8 out of 10. You will pay 100.00 more for each point for better sound. I paid 129.00 for these 6 months ago at another place. I took advantage of the power in the head unit and connected the front high outputs to the tweeters and the rear high outputs to the mid-basses. By doing this, of course, I voided the warranty because I cut into the crossovers to solder 14 ga. speaker wire. But who cares because now I can use the fader to blend the tweeter and mid-bass for better sound and I have twice the power up front. I'm using the rear low line RCA's to the back to the amp to power pioneer 6x9's of the same model line. In a civic these sound incredible..
