Penn-Elcom M1551 Steel Speaker Mounting Top Hat for 1-3/8" Tripod Stand
Penn-Elcom M1551 Steel Speaker Mounting Top Hat for 1-3/8" Tripod Stand is rated 4.7857 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rounded hole edge and made of metalOften times when one buys a speaker mount at this price it is made of plastic or has defects. These are metal and have a rounded edge for the hole which make it easier to slide on the stand poles even if not angled properly during initial insertion. This also prevents accidental pole damage. The quality of mounts are above par even when compared to ones twice the price. The metal work and paint finish were flawless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Penn is a Good BetBetween this Penn and the Dayton this one seems to be better made. These have a more finished look with more fine details such as a bevel around the socket mouth and a nicer paint job. I've used both and am satisfied with both. The Daytons might be a bit deeper which I like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better product for the moneyWe use 4 Kustom house speakers and the factory speaker mounts are plastic - they wear out and break easily. These metal speaker mounts should never break and expect to last forever! The only problem that I have with this product is the fact that the holes for the speaker mounts line up correctly but they do not give you the bolts/screws for these new mounts - you have to use the old ones from your old speaker mounts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from relatively easy to installI bought these to adapt a set of homemade PA speakers to so professional stands and they went in relatively easy. I used a 1.5" hole say and a semi-round rasp to open the hole to the 1.625" that is called for. 4 screws later and they were in. Nice solid stamped part. Not flimsy at all. I recomment wood screws as sheetrock or #8 button heads are a bit small but will work in a pinch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good ProductYou people should contact Kustom Speakers as there weak point in their product is the plastic mounting hat. They would do well to use your product even tho the cost would be more! Also, you might take a look at the squareness of your flange face to the centerline of the pocket. The two I have are off causing the speakers to tilt one way and if mine are off, everything you make is off due to the type of tooling you have.
