Penn-Elcom M1551 Steel Speaker Mounting Top Hat for 1-3/8" Tripod Stand
Good replacement for my RCF subwoofer pole mount?
I have an RCF ART 705 subwoofer. I've been putting my Wharfdale 15" full range speakers (mobile DJ type, about 45#) on a straight pole on top of the sub. A clubber yanked it pretty good and the speaker cup on the sub (aluminum with RCF logo) and it broke. I need to replace the cup with the strongest friggin' thing you've got.
I would recommend that you use the Peavey SA-1 1-3/8" Stand Adapter Flange. However I would also advise that you reinforce the cabinet around the broken socket. If it were my speaker, I would cut a 3/4" plywood or MDF board about 6"x 6" and then glue it inside the cabinet using appropriate length screws (1-1/4") to secure it while the glue dries. I would then recut the socket hole and install the replacement socket. The trauma your speaker received could have weakened your cabinet and the reinforcement will insure that any stress is handled safely.Good Luck
