Product Details

Peerless SDS-135F25CP08-08 Gold SDS Series 5-1/4" Subwoofer Driver

The Peerless SDS Series offers some of the highest quality low cost woofers on the market, and the SDS-135F25CP08 is just another example.

This driver uses a 4-layer voice coil with venting under the dust cap and spider for increased power handling and lower compression. With a rubber surround and progressive spider, the cone will stay linear under extreme excursion. The sculpted stamped steel frame increases rigidity and cosmetics. Designed as a subwoofer, this driver has smooth response up to 2,500 Hz, making it suitable for use in 2-way systems as well. Buyout, limited quantities!

Peerless SDS-135F25CP08-08 Gold SDS Series 5-1/4" Subwoofer Driver
Peerless SDS-135F25CP08-08 Gold SDS Series 5-1/4" Subwoofer Driver is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice driver, for small 3-wayThe TS parameters for this driver enable mid to upper 40Hz F3 in a small enclosure, but the 8 that I purchased vary significantly from unit to unit. The Fs ranged from 52 to 69Hz after 24-hour break-in at 20Hz, which isn't a problem if you adjust the enclosure size and tuning accordingly, as long as you receive drivers with similar TS parameters.

Peerless SDS-135F25CP08-08 Gold SDS Series 5-1/4" Subwoofer Driver

I was thinking this may work in my car, to fit in a tight / weird spot. A long skinny box with 6 of these drivers. What Volume should I shoot for and port size for tuning @ 40hz?? can I build the box with these side by side, or spaced apart? Thanks!!!

Asked by: ThunderShip
I would recommend a box volume of 1.65 cubic feet total, with two 3" diameter ports that are 13" long for a tuning frequency of 40 Hz. The driver orientation will make no difference for an application like this. The ports may have to be placed on the ends of the enclosure.

Hi--wondering if I can us this to replace a blown driver in a Bose acoustimass lifestyle 3 powered sub.  The sub is a bandpass or design, I think?  with the rear of the speaker vented ported and the front of the speaker firing into a sealed enclosure.

Can one, in a line array, split the frequency up between 4 of these using capacitors?. Still considering using a 3-way setup with sub and tweet. Thinking of gain in power handling by limiting lows!? Parallel/series... where caps go?

I want to make a vented enclosure for this to obtain the 47Hz f3. What port tube should I buy from you?

Asked by: Seantos
In .25 cubic feet, the port will need to be 1.5" in diameter and 7-5/8" long for a tuning frequency of 47 Hz.
