Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sounding SubI bought these subs for use in an OB project (The Manzanita). They sound just terrific!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best for the moneyIve got these in a 4 way system, active for 3 speakers, passive for the 3rd to tweeter, in a Q.707 sealed cab, analog system. There is a nice linear response about 40Hz. , so to cover two octaves they are crossed at 140- 160Hz. They have a clear, rapid response. They are not room shaking, but they are not for home theater. Everything from The Who to classical sound great. Im not a port speaker fan at all. To me the bass has a loss of warmth and the sound too hollow. On the other hand, if you dont mind the large bass cab needed for linear response in a sealed system the 12 in peerless is great. All my speakers crossover at aprox 2 octaves. I use a SLS 10 in peerless crossed at 640HZ. The combination is spectacular.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Peerless 12"slsI dont understand why there are little to no reviews on this product. I have these paired with a dayton 12" in a 3 way setup along with dayton 5 1/4 and dayton tweeter. The sound is absolutely wonderful, deep and precise. I could say the same about the dayton but I was one of the unlucky few to get one that buzzed at moderate volumes. (To get rid of the buzzing I paired it with this peerless and wired it to 4 ohms on the dayton 3 way xover. handy little feature and no idea why it worked. Maybe the division of power between the two). Love the sound it produces. I will be replacing the daytons with two more of the peerless drivers as soon as I can.

Peerless 830669 12" Paper Cone SLS Subwoofer

Hi I would like to use this peerless 830669 with a Dayton Audio SD315-PR 12" Passive Radiator in a sealed enclosure this would be a side firing woofer can you suggest a enclosure size as small as possible

Asked by: Brian j
I would recommend using two passives with this woofer. 2.0 cubic feet will work with 100 grams added to each passive. This will give you a tuning frequency of about 32 Hz.

Would this driver work well in a 3 cubic ft cabinet for sub duty only?

Asked by: Akoni59
Assuming 3 cubic feet sealed, this driver will work pretty well. You can expect in room response into the low 30's. A pair in their own enclosures would be better, powered in parallel with our Dayton SA230 amplifier.

Would this driver be a good choice for a (M&K style) push-pull design?  Would this have equivalent output and deep extension as an M&K sub?

Asked by: subsonic36
This will work in a smaller sealed type design like that. If you have an amplifier with a bass boost feature, this will reach in room response to the low 30's which is as low as an M&K design.

i wanna biuld a ht box for 2 of these with a bash 300 watt amp?

i listen to classic rock and techno so i want it to perform well with music and movies and i.m trying for sound quality not to blow me and my neighbors away any help would be great and thanks for your help.
Asked by: frankr
Two of these in a 4 cubic foot sealed enclosure with heavy fill should be plenty with a Bash 300. You can expect plenty of output and in room response down to the low 30's assuming proper room placement.
