Peavey PV 900 2 x 450W Power Amp is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Running entire stage monitor system on this oneI have the 2 channels divided into seperate duties. 1st channel handles instruments, and the 2nd channel is the voice. I have 4 monitors on each channel running at 2 ohms per channel. Gains are at half and we see a constant 85-95dB output on the large church platform. Plenty of headroom and clipping is only seen when the Keyboards are cranked. Running it this way for 3 years and the amp is much older then that. Very good amplifier for the money. I highly recommend this amp.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the moneyOn second thoughts I now have a mixer with the highs on one channel and my 400w sub on the other and it is beautiful. I would buy again but Im going to use it for my 4x the midbass to highs and a bigger peavey for my 4 15in subs. thanks peavey

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dear Amateur,Your 100x2 receiver is conservatively rated to perform that amount of power at a super low level of distortion and is probably capable of the same 180x2 RMS before actual clipping occurs. BUT! The Peavey will drive 180x8! since it's capable of driving a 2 ohm load and has the fans and "heavey" duty power supply to do it all night long. Even at 100W, you won't hear a big diff since it's less than 3db more.Think of it this way: While your receiver will drive 1 pair of speakers, you could fill 4 separate rooms with the same amount of sound with the Peavey which is rated at 180x2 at 8-OHMS but 450x2 at 2-OHMS. Just because someone uses amplifiers doesn't mean they know how (nothing personal)Or think of it this way: You can out a 2000HP engine in your car, but until you put on 24" wide slicks and gears that won't explode in it, you'll never connect that power to the ground so it can happen! Untill you connect that power to something and USE IT, it still belongs to the power company.Always seek the help of an EXPERT. Anyone can call him self a professional. And remember, just because people pay someone, doesn't mean they should.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not A Bang For The BuckI'm new at pro audio electronics but not at amps and speakers. I purchased 2 pv tls 5x speakers with this amp. In the begining I thought I had a nice combo, but when I hooked up a 100x2 at 8ohm home receiver to the speakers I was not impressed. The home receiver did almost as good as the amp did. Also the binding posts do not work well with bare wire. The plus of this amp is the build quality seems good and the built in crossovers are a plus.
